I seem to remember that when early turbo's were played with by Renault in F1, that they were limited to 50% of the capacity of the normally aspirated cars. So maybe, so long as they are limited to 900cc, and no Bike engines!!!!!

I've taken a set of CR500's off in order to drop into class four, quite happy to put them back on if I can stay in four. But the regs say list 1a tyres! Bob

From experience I can confirm that although you will probably be able to get through the Static at Bedford, you WILL be blackflagged for drive past unless you short shift all day. I've now got a RaceCo, super bit of kit, but not yet tried at Bedford (will be there on the 28th). Bob Blatting around Bucks in an R400 - at least I will be when the weather improves !

Roger - good chance that a circlip on the mainshaft has broken up or moved, this allows the synchro hubs and the gear train to move in one direction along the mainshaft, this would also account for the non meshing noises.. Believe me - there's nothing to complicated about Ford gearboxes, buy a good Haynes manual and get stuck into it, you can make up a dummy layshaft with a bit of old pipe and provided you can access a good vice, ordinary handtools will do everything else. at the risk of seeming a bit of an ignoramus, can anyone tell me what are the standard tyre sizes on an R500, the brochures and Web site only seem to give wheel sizes. Blatting around Bucks in an R400 - at least I will be when the weather improves !

Just checked my car over, I noticed that with the tillets in the furthest back position, as they always are for me, there is very little clearance between the seat back (headrest) and the FIA bar diagonal - if the diagonal was padded with the usual roll bar padding, then the seat back would be in contact with the padding - question is, would that then satisfy the new rules?
