  1. Hi I am selling my BJ minno trailer - bought new 1998, not used since 2008 and sat in garage with Caterham on top... Keeping Caterham In good condition with spare wheel and manual winch. Misc. tie-down straps included. £850. Gloucestershire. Brian
  2. Hi, A four point setup is clearly recommended and it is the minimum for cars in Class 6. See S 10.1.9. Best Regards, Brian
  3. Hi Shaun, The change has not come to the rollover protection itself (or in reality the categories as the separation between Modified production and Modified Specialist Production is just for consistency with the roadgoing equivalent categories). The change is that useof these categories is merely recommended at present - we can ignore them and we have but they will become compulsory from 2010. Hence this means that we have to align all of our classes 1-6 against whether they fit into Roadgoing Specialist Production cars (Classes 1-2 clearly fit here) and Modified Specialist production Cars (Classes 3-6 given our curent List 1b tyre choice). My understanding is that the rollover requirements differ between the two categories (I haven't got my Blue Book with me here) and the FIA bar+petty strut does not comply for Modified Specialist Production Cars. Quite a few other things are also tied up with these categories which is why this simple looking change has quite a knock-on effect - some of which we have spotted already but there may be others. Hope this helps, Brian
  4. Guys, We already have to comply with the fuel cut off/ignition cut off rules - the revision is purely to do with the historic cars where the current reg is unworkable. Please don't confuse the fuel cut-off issue above with the future requirement to be able to safely tap the fuel supply to do fuel testing at scrutineering/parc ferme etc. This is the requirement I am talking about and it was in the Summer Motorsports Now from 1 Jan 09 for new cars deemed to be in Modified Specialist Production Cars and other categories. Hope this helps, Brian
  5. Hi Rob, In China at present and no Motorsports Now with me (and not on MSA website) but I spotted this one in the summer mag. I am sure all it said was new as in new cars. Can you fish out the mag and take a look? Thanks, Brian
  6. Guys, Apologies the fuel system cut off is actually a fuel system inspection requirement to allow fuel testing - needed for all NEW Modified Specialist Production Cars - Classes 3-6. This was in the summer Motorsports Now. Hope this helps, Brian
  7. Neil, With my CofC hat on please can you do the crossing out a bit better than in Shaun's picture! Much better than using a bit of black tape to try to strike out the number is using white tape or white tape and white paper to completely cover the deleted number. Some timekeepers do get very annoyed with drivers not bothering to do this properly! The key things are of course that you change the numbers between the runs (I have seen one number on one side etc....) which can of course cause enormous confusion trying to work out for the results...... and run the dual driver car in the right place - normally 10 cars before the main driver and at MIRA when the dual driver has finished there run they come up alongside the main car queue on RHS and change over near the end of the paddock ready to cut in at the appropriate place. Enjoy yourselves, Brian

    MIRA Entries

Hi there Just to clear up a few items about MIRA: - Yes there are no convoy runs - there wern't last year either!!! You will need to walk the course. Realistically the only bit you possibly need to walk is from where the speed trap is on the straight theough the right/left hander. - Someone mentioned practise starts at 10am. Well my copy of the Final instructions says 9.30am - The seemingly overdone comments on no camera etc are because Saturday is a working day at MIRA. When I was there a couple of weeks ago there were several interesting vehicles going around the hi speed circuits. - You will find there is now a red traffic light as well as a flag at the marshals post by the Control tower which is deliberately positioned to be in the drivers line of sight. There will probably be something about this when you sign on. - For those of you who have not been to MIRA before do try to be there at 8am. All the cars are held by the main gate and allowed through as a convoy. Similarly there will be controls on exit from MIRA from the paddock area - If Alan Richards is doing the catering his bacon and brie baguettes are superb!!! Best Regards, Brian (CofC)
  9. Hi Rob, Alas I won't be at the Welsh venues this weekend (in Venice!) or at Curborough (in Moscow!) so I guess posting it would be the best bet. Many thanks Brian
  10. Hi Mark, In Moscow on business then so will have to give it a miss...... Brian
  11. Guys, The requirement to produce documentation such as MOT, tax and insurance for roadgoing cars and a competition car log book for non-roadgoing cars is standard practise and everyone should have all this documentation available for inspection at every event. In practise it is uncommon for it to be requested - the usual thing for roadgoing cars is scrutineers check the validity of the tax disc. If that ius not up to date or missing they may well ask further questions. Different circuits and clubs have different sets of scrutineers etc so as Goodwood is a new venue it would be wise to be cautious. Best regards, Brian
  12. Hi, You will have to register for the L7C Speed Championship. The invites we have from other clubs are for the Championship rather than the L7CGB members. As the guys have said with ACB10's you will be in class 6 - we took the view for 2007 - continued for 2008 - that we would only permit List 1B radial tyres in Classes 3, 4 and 5. This leaves Class 6 as the 'catchall' class. Hope this helps, Brian
