  1. Yep, I bought it off Tony, the majority of the spec is thanks to him - over my ownership i've added the full screen and wiper mech, carbon wings, big exhaust system and primaries and put the MBs on. Simon
  2. phew! thanks for that, I was worried I might be asking too much for it! Simon
  3. Caterham 7 Due to a change of plans for 2011 it's time to put the 7 up for sale. The basic car is a 1998 Roadsports A car which has had a long list of parts added to it over the past couple of owners including myself transforming it into a very well spec'd and fairly rapid little 7. I originally bought the car after selling my race car due to lack of use as my Wife and I had twin girls making it a little difficult to disappear for full days or weekends going off racing so I wanted something I could get some use out of on the road, escaping on spirited evening drives as well as entering into the odd local hillclimb when allowed... for this the car has been fantastic - lovely and driveable around town and nice and quick when you want it to be. I ended up doing only 2 hillclimb events this season and the rest of the time it's been getting polished or posing around on the road in the sun! As with all Caterhams it's regularly been lovingly cleaned and polished and tucked up safe in the garage when not in use. Condition wise, I'd describe it as being in really good useable condition - it's not a spotless concourse example as there are a couple of stone chips on the paintwork and on the rear wings, the scuttle has some marking from past fitment of a fly-screen and the usual indent in the trans tunnel from the roof entry route thanks to a full cage, but other than those points it's a good, clean, loved example which really looks the part, goes well and has loads of history with thousands in old receipts. The full spec is as follows: 1998 Caterham 7 Roadsport 12500 miles Taxed til Sept 2011 MOT'd til July 2011 Engine 1800cc Rover K series Caterham Dry Sump system Gold Dry sump pump refreshed a titan less than 1000miles ago 208bhp@7220rpm (setup by DVA Power) Full rebuild by DVA Power around 1000 miles ago (have bills totalling over £3k) Forged Pistons Modified Oil pump Latest spec main & big-end bearings Crank, front pulley, flywheel & Clutch dynamically balanced Oil pickup pipe and sump gasket modified for improved flow Latest spec Landrover 5 layer & shim head gasket Genuine VVC big valve head - ported & polished Lightweight VVC tappets Piper 285H cams Piper heavy duty valve springs & caps Piper adjustable vernier pulleys Jenvey DTH throttle bodies Bernard Scouse airbox, filter & ducting Emerald 32bit programmable ECU (with leads) Caterham R3/4/500 larger bore primaries Rare Caterham R3/4/500 extended re packable silencer Samco coolant hoses Lightweight flywheel AP racing clutch plate and cover Recent starter motor Transmission Caterham 6 Speed box - refreshed last year by Road and race transmissions uprated with a later 4th gear and for better oil flow 3.92 AP Suretrac LSD also refreshed by road and race transmissions at the same time. 7. Morning Nifty It is indeed the 2.5" primaries for the rover k series i'm after. On the r300, 400 and 500 sizing thing - The 2.5" primaries were fitted to my last r400 which I bought new? and the can and collector i've got ready to go on this 7 came off an r300?! could have been an option or something Nevermind, you have blat mail - or will in 2 minutes Thanks Simon Edited by - hillclimber on 12 May 2010 11:06:29
  8. Long Shot... Does anyone have the primaries for the k series'd R300/R400/R500 up for grabs? I've got the Caterham long can and collector ready to go I just need the matching primaries to get this baby attached to the car! Thanks Simon
  9. Hi there I've been after a burley trailer for my twins for a while but.... i'm miles away up in Yorkshire, would you be at all able to box it up and send it up? Simon
  10. Bloomin tyre fitters telling me the wrong widths they've rung me back and they are actually 13 x 6.5 & 8.5 They can't find anything stamped on there RE offset but when I collect them at lunchtime i'll check them over - when fitted to the car with ACB10s they don't pretrude the standard caterham arches if that helps? please excuse my incompetance with this one, I don't know much about them as they were fitted to my 7 when I bought it but have sat in the garage as spares as it's got some MBs on at the moment. I'll get some pics up ASAP Thanks Simon
  11. Just had the tyres whipped off and turns out they're 7" and 9" Thanks Simon
  12. Hi All Does anyone fancy a swapping a clean set of 13" Caterham 8 spokes (6" fronts 8" rears in either black or anthracite) for my Compomotive CXRs in the same fitment (could be 6.5 & 8.5" - i'll confirm fitment at lunchtime) The CXR's are used but un marked and finished in satin black I have the wheel nuts and unused centre caps which i'd supply aswell. Thanks Simon
