  1. Yep I was right the 1st time they were 6 x 14 just looked it up on the original order ❗ What me throw car bills away 😬 However, I have not found the Barnby wheel one YET but think that is 6.5 for the fronts 'Can you hear me running' ......... OH YES and its music to my ears 😬 😬 😬 1988 200 bhp, 146 ft lbs, 1700cc Cosworth BD? engineered by Roger King, on Weber's with Brooklands and Clamshell wings, Freestyle Motorsport suspension.
  2. Well think your correct they are 6.5 on the front not 6. If thats true then us original HPC owners had 6.5 all round but were also 14" 'Can you hear me running' ......... OH YES and its music to my ears 😬 😬 😬 1988 200 bhp, 146 ft lbs, 1700cc Cosworth BD? engineered by Roger King, on Weber's with Brooklands and Clamshell wings, Freestyle Motorsport suspension.
  3. Mine are from Barnby Engineering in effect R500 wheels but have different innner and outer rim sizes. I have to look up what they were I just got in from work so not tonight. From memory the outer rear are the same as R500 bit the inner less so they just miss the frame. The fronts have a larger outer so the look the same as the rear on a R500. On a R500 the front outer is not quite the same as the R500 rear I can do this as they ore clamshell wings. Will look up the inner and outer sizes and let you know. They have A048 tyres185 on the front 205 on the rear both 60 x 13 'Can you hear me running' ......... OH YES and its music to my ears 😬 😬 😬 1988 200 bhp, 146 ft lbs, 1700cc Cosworth BD? engineered by Roger King, on Weber's with Brooklands and Clamshell wings, Freestyle Motorsport suspension.
  4. I know what you mean about white patches Well I use to finish off with Brasso Duraglit Metal Polish Wadding but takes ages then in winter a coat of car polish I used it then all year gave up after 2 winters and had it painted but it was shiny if I kept it up ever 2 weeks in summer and was instantly dirty winter 'Can you hear me running' ......... OH YES and its music to my ears 😬 😬 😬 1988 200 bhp, 146 ft lbs, 1700cc Cosworth BD? engineered by Roger King, on Weber's with Brooklands and Clamshell wings, Freestyle Motorsport suspension.
  5. I have 6" and 7.5" from BM wheels 'Can you hear me running' ......... OH YES and its music to my ears 😬 😬 😬 1988 200 bhp, 146 ft lbs, 1700cc Cosworth BD? engineered by Roger King, on Weber's with Brooklands and Clamshell wings, Freestyle Motorsport suspension.
  6. CaterBram Jnr Nothing I have noticed but I only driven with clamshells, so its not a real opinion. Others say you get lift at high speed... just Urban rumour spread by cycle wing owners ….. never had a problem still it’s a relatively heavy lump up front but does have an alloy bell housing As to racks well the early ones did have different limit stops but when buying the quick rack I was told they were all the same and found I had less full lock… at first I missed that ability when parking still best check or the cycle wings hit the body on near full lock If you do have an early rack change it anyway the fast racks so much better Personally I think they look better, no muck thrown up at you and look great with Brooklands Very simian looking 'Can you hear me running' ......... OH YES and its music to my ears 😬 😬 😬 1988 200 bhp, 146 ft lbs, 1700cc Cosworth BD? engineered by Roger King, on Weber's with Brooklands and Clamshell wings, Freestyle Motorsport suspension.
  7. Well yes the longest is 2.04 as it can be a pain in traffic without looking it up think the standard Sierra box is 3.36 πŸ€” or similar as Phil said great for a heavy car and a caravan ❗ My box is square cut and I have a 2.2 with a 3.96 diff and that works well for my BHP and rev limit in fact should for most plus choosing square cut is a matter of choice but better if you doing sprints and track Still you need to look at the hole rage of the 5 gears play with a gear ratio program and think of the top speeds as a bit of fantasy as they ignore road losses and overcoming air resistance. Arnie has one on his site and Quaife have another one play with both What’s important is limiting the rev drop between gears for an equal speed and you can use those theoretical speed to see that drop Quaife offer 2.04, 2.2 and 2.39 that’s from memory as the Quaife site is not so user friendly these days. If you buy a close ratio set then also buy a quick shift lever its massively better plus have a drain plug fitted and think about either an ally lid on the old case or an ally box The heavy duty 5 speed is the better on 'Can you hear me running' ......... 8. Kenny See my posted image on "Was nearly car Jacked outside Barcelona" on chitchat 'Can you hear me running' ......... 10. Kenny I put in a new bulkhead/heater section but I was changing the scuttle anyway. Its a bit of a pain to do it mostly as it was the 3rd one CC supplied that fitted 😬 Not thier fault lots of mods to the pedal box at the time when my car body was made and as ever parts were really helpful However, most who were doing the same at that time just blanked it off As to the heater hose I take its not a BDR engine πŸ€” if it is just as bob said 'Can you hear me running' ......... 11. Hi angus I have a Delco Freedom Battery mounted where the heater use to be and despite the cars irregular use in recent years they been fine the first one was fitted in 2000 and I replaced it in 2007 but only as it was getting tired might have got another year out of it if I used the car more often. I think the cut out switch helps as with that off power drain is nil when not in use. 'Can you hear me running' ......... Loose floorpan

Thats a very good point Mickrick as far as salt From a galvanic effect of the contact of dissimilar metals SS is more noble but ally much less nobel but but the Ally is the greater mass so the fixings ok but less so the Ally however it has a greater mass so the effects less Best would be a rubber coated rivit. EVS777 Yes I had been trying to sort out what I thought was a suspension problem, gave up put it in for the due MOT thinking they might spot the problem. They did and failed it, drove home replaced them and had an MOT less than an hour later I now check them but they have been OK since then.........that was err 15 years ago πŸ€” As to using steel ones well the original ally most likely fail from salt and the contact with steel frame. However, if you use steel the floor panel rather than the pop rivet might fail or they will be a real pig to drill out I just used some longer ones a bit thicker in diameter that I had in my garage ❗ 'Can you hear me running' ......... 14. Setok Have a look at where the balance screw hits the arm/stop in the past the arm on mine became pitted from use so Roger King fixed an old valve shim to the arm much harder no more problems. In my case it just made it hard to balance the carbs. What was happening was the idle screw was hitting the edge of the err hole/dent then slipping in as you used the throttle and did have an effect the idle speed. 'Can you hear me running' ......... 15. Well mines not the same engine but for years I have a 4mm M/S plate brazed to the bottom of the dry sump pan.......... its a bit thinner now in places 'Can you hear me running' .........
