  1. Thanks Malc, I'm sure the paranoia will kick in if I see a Police car en route. Just hope it's not raining or salty.
  2. Thanks for that. I have about 12 miles cross country t the test site in Beverley so should be enough for the brakes to bed in. I have the newer spec AP std brakes. Are these 1144 as std?
  3. My 360 is now completed and pre SVA checked. Good. SVA is next and though I had thought to trailer it to the test, the thought of driving it appeals. So on the basis that my A plan insurance is converted from build phase to driving using the Vin number, and I have the certificate with me. 1/ I can drive to the SVA test, provided it's pre booked/I have the paperwork with me? 2/ I can drive it back if its passed? 3/ I can drive it back if its failed but not deemed dangerous? Thanks in advance Thanks in advance
  4. I needed the paint mix for Caterham vintage green and Tony at TSK could not have been more helpful. If I need paintwork he will be high on my list.
  5. Try Speedy Cables of Swansea. They can make a cable to pattern or to your design and have various options on quality/friction levels. 01639 732300 and website http://www.speedycables.com
  6. Just think, If they changed the design of the lever, you wouldn't have to do that. Just saying.
  7. Forgot to mention, once you have measured the thread length required, put a plain nut on the bolt to be cut and tighten to hold the bolt firmly in place on the bracket. This makes it rigid and therefore easy to mark the point of cut and safe to do so.
  8. I had the same issue with mounting the combined rad/oil cooler in my 360 kit a month ago. You have it right but need to shorten the bolt length to suit the thread available within the female isolastic mount. Not certain but I recall it was about a 7mm reduction required. The combined radiator/oil cooler was introduced a few months ago in place of the separate rad/cooler, so the drawings in the build manual don't match. PS: When I spoke to Derek on this he indicated that sometimes the rads cam in with over length bolts that needed shortening. As you will have observed, the bolts cannot be removed to do this so its an angle grinder with a decent cutting disc fitted for this job. Pete
  9. Try BGH geartech at Farnborough.
  10. Woolies at Market Deeping near Peterborough. Good web site and a vast range of trim/carpet etc.
  11. I have bought from BGH before and the quality/service is excellent. If you can provide them with an engine dyno curve of power/torque they will ratio the gearbox to match. You can also specify a "long" 5th for the motorway if that's your preference. They can fit stronger layshaft bearings and beef up the synchro too, depends on your budget. Pete
  12. Might be worth trying http://www.ics-steeringspecialist.co.uk tel no 0121 2853555. They can reman pretty much any rack and carry Elise etc racks on exchange, amongst many others. Pete
  13. Thanks for that, less than I thought.
  14. Agreed, 243 for general use. Its designed for hand tool applications. I thought it had 75% strength at 150c though? Used it as my "go to" threadlocker on general use applications for many years.
  15. Thanks Jonathan No, not asked the factory yet. The chap at VOSA knew of changes but I don't think he had sight of them yet. Unless something emerges here I think I will wait till nearer by build date of July to allow communications to have been completed.
  16. As I'm starting a new build 360 in July I called by our local VOSA centre yesterday, while in the area. A very helpful inspector talked through my questions and mentioned some new IVA test standard changes coming in May. Not a revolution but "changes I should investigate". Does anyone have insight on this? Pete
  17. Yes the lowered floors are in the spec but the gun will be handy for other parts. Pete
  18. Hi Finmac. I'm building a 360 in a couple of months time. What make/ source of gun have you used? Any thoughts? Thanks Pete

  20. Any of the headlight renovation kits will work. These generally have two or three grades of very fine polishing abrasive. Work well on most perspex/similar.
  21. Hi David, I fitted DRL's on my motorcycle and the legislation requires that they are not in use after dark/when headlights are required. So the simple solution is a switch for the DRL's or you can use a light sensor. Either way it would be an MOT fail if continuously on when running. Regards Pete C
