  1. I generally sit in neutral, would declutching produce a different result if already in neutral (he says embarrassed not knowing the answer)
  2. Hi Jonathan, hope you are well. Declutching on the move there seems no massive slowing force, though I do mainly slow with gear changes as opposed to brakes. The issue seems to be when stationary, car doesn't roll as I would expect. Hope that makes sense

  4. I was going to bring fuel in Jerry cans, is that allowed? Haven't done one before so not sure what the rules are
  5. I've noticed a few times when out (long drive at the weekend so noticed a few times) that the car doesn't seem to roll when stopped on a slight incline - not talking about a steep hill, but inclines when sat at lights/roundabouts etc. where in a normal car I would perhaps be holding on the brake/handbrake. Over Xmas when the car was up on stands, front wheels spin no bother (aside from the normal build up of surface corrosion when the cars not been moved). Rears have much more resistance, but put this down to LSD/gearbox resistance (Titan and Type 9 respectively). Car easy enough to push back and forth on the flat so potentially nothing to worry about - just wanted to check whether I need to look at anything (handbrake seems to work all OK)? Thanks in advance Paul
  6. Hate to disappoint you Andy, but it's still 7 in one day as that was Derek C and his good lady who was with us at Morpeth but left very soon after you arrived (they were off to Rothbury) so you've double counted one. Still, 7 in a day is no mean feat and definitely my best too! Cracking drive though!
  7. Many thanks Aeroscreens, I'll check that out. Ignoring the lack of my driving ability and tyre age for a moment, any thoughts on the CR 500 Vs AO32's in the wet. If broadly similar think I'll just leave the Yoko's on the rims for the time being (I know it's somewhat academic as I'm not going to be pushing on too much, just want to be as prepared as I can be)
  8. Just booked this (my first track day)! Woo hoo!! I have got hold of some spare wheels (thanks again Tazio) which came with some decent looking AO32r's (185's) but I also have some CR 500's (185 and 205 rear). Both sets are age unknown, though at a guess would say the Yoko's are younger Given the vagaries of the British weather, in the event of rain which would you suggest (will need to get the CR 500's swapped onto the rims and the Yoko's removed if CR's are the recommendation). Or, does my lack of track day skills and experience and the fact that both sets are used, age unknown and potentially past their best make it a moot point? Ta
  9. Tazio, if Crispin doesn't want your wheels I am looking for a cheap set of 13*6's for some CR500's I got for track days, so would be interested in 2nd dibs if yours are 13's? Could do with a pair of 13*6 & a pair 13*8's too as thinking about putting my current on car tyres onto those and get some new ZZS's for the road (Simon's look spot on but have tyres already and out of my budget at the mo)
  10. Mine too terminate with a short rubber flexi hose (not sure how it was built mind).
  11. Thanks Tazio. Its a good point you make, I have said they are good based on my own experience of 1 tyre type. In the dry, I find them more than grippy enough for my need, but perhaps I should look for something more all round (forgive the pun). I have seen a few mentions of the rain expert, bit will have to look around a bit as some other recommendations (such as the Avon ZZS) are a little too pricey to experiment with in case I'm no better off?
  12. Ps, depending on size, some are only available in 45 profile (my rears are 235) so may need to consider that
  13. I have V70's and they are really good.........in the dry, when they are warm! In the cold, not so clever. In the damp, even less clever. In the wet, positively scary at points! Was out last weekend (admittedly 6 degrees and quite damp) and the car is twitchy. To much throttle in 1st, 2nd or even 3rd can induce wheelspin, so if you go that route and if you drive in less clement weather like me, caution is needed. I'm not looking to change tyres, but I do have to change my driving style.
  14. Thanks Andrew, whilst I do have a bit of a mess in terms of wiring, I am also North of the Wall so to speak in the frozen northerlands near Middlesbrough so not exactly local. I'll get it sorted at some point.......I'll just have to unplug 1 wire at a time, re-route and re-plug in until all tidy and ship shape. Good news is, all the electric's work even if they are messy.
  15. Revilla is clearly a top man! "Andrew then proceeded to tidy up some of my wiring" .......... All I need now Nick is his address and preferred tipple as I have various crows nests under the dash and bonnet that I have literally zero clue how to even start sorting!! I am absolutely positively when Andrew area them he will take pity on me!
  16. No worries Nick, seem like a bargain so sure you'll shift them
  17. Per comment by Domus. Initially I hated the look of the repeaters on the bowl (on the car when bought) however I now really like it now I've got used to it and brilliant as you can see the flash
  18. Damn it! I thought my luck was in there with £35 a wheel and would have been straight to see you for the lot. Then I read if agin and saw 14". Fortunately for everyone I can't access the emojis on my phone otherwise there would be a screen full of the crying ones!

Not sure if that's correct to your car, just remember seeing it. Good luck

I did see one on eBay (stated from an R400 and OSF I think) not sure what age etc, I'll look to find a link and post it
  23. Stu, technical ignorance about to follow.... My car is on Khumo Ecsta V70A and rears are more worn than front so was thinking I'd need to replace first. Fronts are 175 60 13's and rears are 235 45 13's. I was going to replace like for like (8 or 8.5j on the rear so need something to match tyre wise) What is the downside of a larger rear and the difference front to rear makes? Ta in advance
  24. The mere thought of it is making me anxious, light hesded and a tad queezy!
  25. Jonathan......the thought of having almost 17,000 messages makes me shiver!!
