  1. Mine is definitely the n the middle of the hose from water rail to rad. About parallel with the centre line of the n/s/f wheel
  2. Mike, am interested in this for a relative, though they have lots of questions? Do you have any pics you can share and perhaps a full list of parts required to complete
  3. Thanks all, now sorted, used bike brake cable with a bobble on each end cut in half (with the second half now in the boot in case it ever happens again). Used the bobble end on the TB end so even if the nut comes off the bobble will keep the cable attached and a couple of solderless nipples on the pedal end. All good and working again to enjoy more sunshine
  4. Wasn't thinking of that type, more a shealth that the cable slide through with 2 screws on the side
  5. Thanks JK, off to Halfords as my closest bike shop and will fashion a replacement with some additional redundancy built in
  6. Out on a run today, my throttle cable snapped, or so I thought. Upon inspection, it is held/clamped at the TB end with a nut squeezing it between a couple of washers. Its all a bit mangled now with a roadside repair so was thinking I'll but some bike brake cable and a couple of cylindrical metal shealths with screws in to attach each end (through the hole in the throttle pedal and then clamped) and re-use the nut and bolt on the TB end with another clamp after it for security. Can anyone see any issues with that plan? Also, anyone know the name of the metal cylindrical shealths with the screws through?
  7. Black and green highlights (I think) A66 heading westbound at about 6pm today just past Stockton....... as I was travelling eastbound cursing at the tailbacks!
  8. Gulf colours, just cruising over the Queen Elizabeth Bridge toward the A66, looking sublime and new. I was the fat bloke walking home, looking terrible, ready to puke, having failed to complete the run (well waddle) target I had set myself. If you're local, give me a holler. Paul
  9. I did breathe a sigh of relief Regin. Whilst I was convinced I had literally just started and then stopped it almost immediately, was that sliver of doubt and worry, but all seems good. Phew!!
  10. Quick (and happy) update. Belt(s) delivered, popped one in some hot water, and "walked" onto the big pulley turning the engine with a 22mm deep socket following some advice. All went on not too bad. Started, pressure built as cranking, then straight up to 60psi on start up. Seemingly, no untoward noises, rattles, clatters or bangs so fingers crossed, a lucky escape (though didn't get chance to take it for a drive). Thanks all for your guidance, advice & words of encouragement
  11. Just a reminder about Sunday 19th - plan to meet at 9 - 9.30 at Washington Services (northbound), leaving at 10 and heading through the tunnel and up to the Morpeth garden centre (Dobbies on the A697, just off the A1) for 10.45 and then onwards to enjoy the borders. Give me a shout if you have any questions. See you Sunday!
  12. And to check, I peer in with a torch with the engine running and look for the level to be just under the baffle
  13. About 4.5 ltrs Regin and its got a Pace Easyclean cylindrical tank in front of the passenger footwell
  14. Thanks 7 Wonders.....I was hopeful, but still nice to hear it! The crank end pulley has lips on it so i think I'll have to do that first and then slip onto the pump end
  15. And I'll be buying 3 replacement belts. One for the car, one for the boot of the car and 1 for the garage!
  16. Excellent, thanks all for your prompt advice and guidance. RJ, fingers crossed, the engine ran at tickover for about 15 seconds I think with the belt snapped. Drove it to a car show no problems, across a bumpy and rutted field (albeit slowly) where I am guessing its either had a glance off something or a twig got stuck and snapped. When I started it to leave, a slightly different "clack" to normal. Engine off. Checked oil tank (full). Started again, clack again, off again. Then checked the pump and found the snapped belt. So on the basis no issues on the way there and the fact that the belt was still in its place, makes me think it snapped either as I dawdled in to parking or as I started it to leave so hoping (and hoping and hoping) no lasting damage done
  17. My searching is probably letting me down, but my Fenner L210 belt on my K series Pace dry sump pump has snapped. As I sit waiting for recovery, thought I'd search how to tension the replacement while fitting but can't find an article/thread. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Fortunately it seemed to go on start up so optimistic no damage done

    1.8 power

Great news Phil! Same "problem" as me re injectors topping Ng out when I visited the rolling road, but like you say, it's more than enough as is.
  19. Be interested to know what that's like RJ as did strike me a decent value in comparison to other options and v. Light by the long is of things. Have you gone 5 or 6 speed?
  20. I was looking at boxes (not that I have the money to buy one) and Elite sequentials weren't daft money (less than CC charged for the h pattern 6). Plus they are very light - has anyone ever put one of those in a 7?
  21. Back plate was from Jenvey (second attempt which still requires a bit of a modification to not foul the chassis leg after my first flat backplate purchase was miles off) filter direct from Pipercross, though they have a different name on the internet. I'll see if I can find the invoice
  22. Yes, I did it when I first got the car about 18 months ago. Mainly spattered now though
  23. Ah, I was 96 or 98 I think (IIRC) with the airbox on at 5k rpm....so my help is no help
