  1. One solution Region. Admittedly it was a bit of a faff, but ohh the noise (I have not yet measured noise which may be an issue given your track use)
  2. After many years of nagging I now understand how to work the cotton, wool and normal cycles, where to put the detergent and the fabric conditioner. All relatively easy to be honest. Boom boom! (Well someone was always going to stay something daft on this topic, so may as well be me in-keeping with my character)
  3. Gautam, if only I had a few quid lying about and some extra space in the garage, would make a perfect addition and satisfy SWMBO's urge to blat (plus we'd be able to take both kids blatting). If I win the lottery this weekend I'll be down to see you. So you have a 1 in 14 million chance of a sale to me! Good luck with the sale, lovely car, wish you all the best. PS we'll be out in May and again in June (going to do North York Moors in June so hopefully you can join us and let us see the new beastie)
  4. With my first 7, a '96, I ended up buying a long flexible, plastic funnel and leaving it in the boot. Tried all sorts of ways and invariably ended up with the pump clicking countless times or fuel splashing on the back of the car or my shoes (making pedal control "interesting" at times)
  5. Have you read about the change needed to the alternator? The back plate needs to be turned through about 180 degrees so the connector plug is at about 7 o clock or it can foul no.1 primary and melt and then you car stops working and friendly people on a blat have to push start you.........
  6. Was it an R400 Manstein? If so, that could be Alistair who's from over that way and joined us on one of our Hartside runs
  7. Bugger, that's pricey. Though I always tell myself and oil and filter, even of pricey, is cheaper than the potential alternative. Apols hadn't realised you were from foreign shores
  8. RJ, the Marina in the UK became an Ital in about 1980 or so (can't quite remember exactly when, but I do remember a trip to back pool in my dad's purple Marina with a vinyl roof)
  9. Ps I've a K series with VHPD
  10. I use comma Motorsport 5w50 and bought from Amazon at between 22 and about 26 quid delivered for 5ltrs. Have also found a local motor factors that will order it with a few days notice too
  11. Would agree Chris, the last few miles up to the Tan Hill were sublime. I even managed to get out of 2nd gear having recovered from the horrors of the Buttertubs where I was holding up vans, caravans, horse and carts and was even overtaken by a couple of sheep!
  12. It was simply sublime! I almost crashed as my eyes could not stop staring at its wonder!
  13. The snow up there today is not liking promising.....
  14. I suppose when we are up at tan hill or at the pub we could consider the remainder of the route Mike. Be like all democratic and what not
  15. Good place for a photo though.....with your photography skills and a gaggle of 7's, I forsee a fridge door entry coming
  16. Will form up of be astern behind you when we leave the Fat Lamb and play follow my leader given your knowledge of the roads
  17. My K, just taken out aforementioned NGK's and replaced with the same at a 0.8 gap following various bits of advice and research. Car ran spot on with them, only changed as part of general winter fettling
  18. Elongated passenger mirror if Manstein hasn't had it (not sure if he's just had the pair?)
  19. The easiest way for me to make my car lighter and go faster Regin is for me to be less fat ha ha! Once I've done that (10kgs would be achievable for me) then I'll strip the uneccessary washers. Though, what's going on will already be less than what came off (and in different places too as the a frame did have washers in the sockets when I removed them). Plus, I've cleaned off about 4 kg of mud, crud and alike from underneath and also from under the seats (no idea how they ended up so filthy) so there's more wieght saving there too.
  20. Thank you John and certainly no need for an apology, tis merely just me being cautious and checking as I read it wrong. Thanks also for the tip re a frame, I'll check that, though I do have a 50:50 chance of having got it right at least
  21. JV, just to be double sure, is the last comment "no washers here" or "no, washers here" as in they are needed. I read a couple of times and originally read it as no, washers needed. Sorry to be a pain, but I just want to be double sure I get it right. I know they are not shown in the build manual, but am just surprised as would have always put a washer on
  22. Thank you all, to be fair RJ though, the washers aren't the wieght issue I have...... But know I know exactly what's what. Jim, now I'm worried, how would I know if the a frame is the right or wrong way up? Is it a case of the fit achieved to the car as I can't see any marking?
