  1. Was going to retain the adjustable runners for now, so your above-the-floor frame looks just the sort of thing that I need (as the bulge of the seat will still be above the level of the existing floor. The tabs at the back where you have attached the frame are the ones I was talking about, although strangely mine are upside down with the opening of the channel facing up and sit flush to the floor Looks like bridging the gap from chassis rail to chassis rail is the way forward though. Although after sitting in the car with no seat (nice and low and snug, the lowered floor does look tempting ) Cheers Kevin .
  2. Just taken the tillets out of an S3 with a metric chassis to try and sort the sagging floor 🙆🏻. (I know - have dug the wii fit out to loose a few lbs 😔) Have purchased a new set of strengthening channels to go underbneath the floor, but can't help thinking that it will only be a matter of time before they will bend again. I am looking at making up some channels to go inside the car aswell to spread the load across the floor instead. There are two upturned U-shaped tabs with a hole in each at the rear of the cockpit that I was looking to attach the channels on to. Just wondered if these are intended for mounting leather seats to anyway? Has anyone sussed a nice way of strengthening the floor without making the seat much higher?
  3. Spotted whilst I was lost, trying to find a quicker cross country route to Nettlestead. White with superlite wheels looking very clean and freshly washed parked on driveway. Also looked like its home was getting spruced up Stopped to say hi, but nobody seemed to be around ☹️
  4. I was just leaving the Brakes depot around 15:15. Green and yellow
  5. We gave a as we walked back along the verge to the hotel. Perfect weather for it
  6. I took the Radtec route after numerous standard rad leaks, as I couldn't trust the things anymore (whatever batch they were from), and got fed up with cleaning coolant from the engine bay. Wish I had done this sooner as the cooling problems may well have been the cause of my water pump to start leaking, which is a timing belt off job to replace on the sigma Thanks again to Richard of Automotive Engineering for replacing mine Ben
  7. ....thats all I could see whilst heading south. Was that you Brian? Will be the ultimate spotted if I'm right
  8. Hi Ian , Richard was going to be the next step if the belt needed to come off (Hi Richard ). I have changed a couple before, but just don't fancy it on a car this new I really should speak to him anyway - without another broken car for him to fix
  9. This morning Hopefully you saw the mobile camera in time on the way back (if you tuned left after leaving the camber twisty bits that is) Great clear morning for it
  10. Looks like I have a small leak from the water pump. Its only done about 9000 miles, but I guess its only going to get worse so I'd better get on with it It looks like some of the pump housing goes behind the timing belt, so wondered if anyone knows if I can change one of these without disturbing the belt. (I do hope so ) Cheers
  11. Hi Steve Great news that its not the head gasket Only 3 rads thats good going 😬 Just to add to this, since changing my rad to a radtec everything has been fine but have always turned the heater to max if caught in traffic (whatever the weather 😳) as my fan also never seems to stay on long enough. I think the additional fan switch may be the way to go as I noticed over the weekend that a leak had appeared at the water pump this time after a very stop start journey home. I think its just a case of a leak appearing at the weakest point when overheating. I'm just surprised that the cap (which I've replaced to make sure) doesn't release this pressure.
  12. Hi Steven, hope you are enjoying the new 7. It did seem to just purrr past so that explains it 😬 Yes, I'll admit it - Jimny owner and proud. Its the workhorse that means I can get stuff to fill in the pot holes in my lane to get the 7 out scrape-free See you soon Ben
  13. Gunmetal grey, or silver with stripes. Was that you Steven?
  14. Hi Martin That may well have been the one then (I think the plate started GN57). No track day, only watching caterhams. The Suzuki was the ideal way to make it to the South Bank with sump intact See you soon
  15. Spotted from Silver Suzuki Jimny whilst on our way to Brands Hatch this morning
  16. Was alerted of a 7 heading this way by the other half (who couldn't keep up due to traffic 😬). I waved from the end of the garden Blue & Ali I think. Edited by - sigmasmith on 28 Apr 2010 21:44:48
  17. Hi Martin That will have been me heading back through Nettlestead. I think I saw you (were you in an Audi just before the roundabout?). Thanks for the spotted
  18. Just before 2 o'clock turning left towards Hawkhurst. We were in a Vauxhall Insignia waiting at the lights.
  19. I was heading the other way in a Silver Suzuki Jimny
  20. I was hoping that was the case Ivan. I noticed the bleed screw which looked like it would make bleeding a lot easier. Hi Toby My seven is a normal size 150 superlight.
  21. Thanks all I have a standard radtec on its way to me with an extra fitting on the top to replicate the vent on the standard CC rad for a sigma 150. I've decided to give it a try as my CC one has let go once again (one of the new batch). Just out of interest, does anyone know if the extra fitting is really needed, or is it just there to help bleed air out to the expansion tank? Could it be blanked off instead? Hoping to make it to the Sossigies day, as something has always gone wrong to stop me getting there in the seven. It might have to be a Sunday morning rad changeover 😬 See you all there
  22. Heading the other way past Hams Travel at 5:15pm I was in the silver Ford KA. Nice evening for it.
  23. Mine is an 08, but must definitely have been me as I had just found my winter sevening wear. Thanks for the spotted , and at least I know what tintop to look out for now. Tell SWMBO that getting spotted is great part of a blat and spotting is a duty as a seven owner's other half. Thanks again Edited by - sigmasmith on 4 Oct 2009 16:45:55
  24. I think it might have been me. Did you flash your lights as I was heading into Southborough?
  25. All sounding good so far Thanks all
