glad I didn't spec a heater only done 30 mile runs so far at running speeds, but it does get hot, but not painful yet. Heat does seem to be in the tunnel area as the side does get hot. I will give any more info as and when I can get out in the car in this p*xy weather.
  2. Scooter, you can have the pads.

  6. Dick, I can't imagine the routing of the duct for the mod proposed by Dave but anything is possible. My car is finished and awaiting SVA, I have been given a date of 14 th august .
  7. Dick, your car has a throttle body on a plenum, big ally casting thingy with a K&N filter on the end.
  8. That's good news Dick, glad you got it sorted without too much pain. I allready have the 7" jobbie so should be o.k. Thanks for the feedback.
  9. Dick, I know it sounds simple but have you tried adjusting the throttle stop at the throttle body? I believe tickover should be about 900rpm. I was told by CC that you may have to turn the ignition on and off a few times to teach the ecu what the correct throttle opening is. If all else fails give them a call at dartford.
  10. Dick, in the first instance why not ask CC for their noise data, The car must have passed SVA noise test which I believe is a lot lower than 108. If yours is over this then something is wrong with your can/exhaust, if you go down the path of modifying it do you not void any warranty claim thet you may have in the future. Please keep us posted on this as the problem will apply to all us R400 new owners.
  11. Glad to hear your getting it sorted Dick, hope they do any other changes that have occured since you took delivery. Barry R400 Duratec No. 001
  12. This sounds like another piece of "development" that existing owners may or may not get updated at first service, but having bled my clutch with the previous setup its not that difficult. Of course the orange car could be the old version! Barry R400 Duratec No. 001 Edited by - BAZZA on 6 Jun 2007 09:36:06
  13. Morning Dick, The clutch bleed nipple is inside the small cover where the the pipe goes into the bellhousing, just undo the two screws and slide the cover up the pipe and you will see the nipple to the side of the pipe. It has a rubber cover on it and is set down in the bellhousing a little. Good luck with it.
  14. Dick, did you get my reply to your mail? Barry R400 Duratec No. 001
  15. I have an area of one rear wing that has the weave exposed (no resin) and a front with a strange pattern on it. Barry R400 Duratec No. 001
  16. I do have an issue with the quality of my carbon wings that came with my new build, I hope to have it sorted by CC at post buid check. I your case I would have thought that the supplier of the wings should sort it out (the repairer that is). Barry R400 Duratec No. 001
  17. Yes Dick they didn't supply the stickers to me either just a caterham X power badge for the back I had to push them to get some stickers. The cooling issue is still in development with me as the crash test dummy but should be resolved soon, also get them to check your fan setting as mine comes on at 82c should be 94c. Thanks for the offer Dick but my car is virtually finished apart from the changes that are occurring to the cooling system. Barry R400 Duratec No. 001 Edited by - BAZZA on 30 May 2007 08:31:45
  18. Dick, did you car come without stickers? or do you just want more or bigger? Barry R400 Duratec No. 001
  19. That's if the supplied parts (cowling and brackets )fit then all youv'e got to do is remove the plenum to fit the new hoses to the sandwich plate.
  20. Ammo, I do take your point and do agree with it in general, but only I and CC know what has gone on with my car since the placement of my order and I feel that I have been let down, but will only resolve things by dealing with CC in a good way not by whinging on here about them. I am in a bad mood having seen another long weekend go by without being able to finish the car when at the end of last week it looked like I would. 😔
  21. dick, I did reply to your post in tech talk, you should have an oil cooler in front of the radiator. this whole cooling issue has been changing constantly since I got mine in early March. If you contact CC they will probably tell you that they will ensure that you have the latest coling system at post build check, whether you are happy with that only you can decide. I can only say that from my experience the R400 has not been fully developed prior to supply to customers. Cooler is Mocal 10 row. Barry R400 Duratec No. 001 Edited by - BAZZA on 28 May 2007 11:22:26

    R400 build

John, I have allready fitted all the oil cooler kit, but the nose cone won't fit so I phoned CC and they told we that they have new brackets for the cooler and new hoses coming that will run under the rad and into the bottom of the cooler. This is how I suggested doing it 2 months ago but they didn't bother telling me that they were doing it this way until after I told them about my nose not fitting. Surely you will not be able ot even run your engine prior to post build check now. Believe me this has not been a good build. Feel free to call me if there is anthing else you need to discusss.
