  1. They are older ones, 'cos it's a Lotus. Those frenched lights were done for the TwinCam SS cars.

Are you related to Goatse then 🤔
  5. Jean-Marc Bikx is in Belgium, not sure where though. He runs his car as a UK car and brings it over once a year for it's MOT. May be worth looking at that route.
  6. When the same thing happened to one of my SPA mirrors, I took the plastic mirror piece out and took it to a local glazier who cut me two pieces of glass mirror the same size. I glued them in with a little silicon, picture quality is hugely improved. Mine are flat glass, though, not sure if you could get a piece of convex the same size and curvature.
  7. What happened? Fall off your bike?
  8. Once had a set of Minilites, had to sell them to help fund a house move ☹️ Only disadvantage that I can think of is that if you were to decide at a later date to have wider tyres, you may have to replace the whole wheel and not just the rims. An advantage of splits is that you can vary the offset if you need to. On the other hand, Minilites are designed to survive on a one ton rally car with flat tyres in the forests, so on a seven they should be somewhat understressed.
  9. even if you don't go for the zetec, the quaife sc/cr cluster for the 4-speed makes a great deal of sense.
  10. I have this Escort Sport 'box with a Quaife straight cut cluster, lovely ratios, the zetec it's mated too producing about 175BHP. Whether to go for a 5-speed of not depends on a few things, what diff ratio you have, what sort of power the engine makes. Then the standard type 9 ratios may not be suitable, and if you go for a straight cut type 9 then you also (probably) have a straight-cut 5th, giving plenty of whine at cruising speeds. 4 speed 'boxes don't suffer from this as top is direct.

  14. Arnie, is this a rack for cycle wings or for clams?
  15. My Greenstuff pads on standard brakes lasted 1 trackday at Cadwell, a couple of hundred of road miles and then half a trackday at Snetterton, which led to an interesting drive home.
  16. Sleep in the car, Wus ❗
  17. 30 years of the Caterham Seven ?
  18. Steve, I have an early 1800 Zetec, with a 4 speed box, you are very welcome to drive it and see what it's like. AIUI the 2-litre has more NVH as witnessed by the number that have either broken alternator mounts or exploded thair alternator fans. Barry
  19. David, I'm in Lindfield, have a Brooklands aeroscreened, flared winged car that you can try, drop me a line barry at sweeneys dot net and we could meet up Barry
