  1. the dip switches alter the odometer. the pot screw adjust the speedo reading , I altered mine after a similar tyre change and all it required was 1/8th of a turn clockwise to bring the speedo down by about 6mph.
  2. what exhaust ? and is the filter inside the bonnet or poking through ?
  3. it's a 1 series diff not M3 to test before going to all the hassle os changing seals - why not suck the oil out and refill with the specified amount ?. I wouldn't gamble with running it possibly dry.
  4. as per Angus previous issue with the same symptoms - do the simple stuff first and check that the small wire to the alternator is fastened correctly - it works loose on the small spade connector.
  5. been there, if I were to do it again I wouldn't fit a cooler as its all heavy and even with a thermostat (which nearly always leak) you fewer circa 10% flow through the cooler which over cools the oil below about 20c ambient temps. I would fit a laminova and take the hit of half a bar drop in oil pressure that comes with it .

    it depends on the tyres you are running, a good starting point is to aim for 75mm under the sump ( same as a can of beans) and then raise the rear by 18mm.
  8. it would be quite rare for a rack to simply start clunking, get someone who knows caterhams to look at the entire steering system before you spend several hundred pounds .

  11. it varies depending on the year - earlier cars I've been down to 4l before refuelling , owners of 2010 onwards report running out at 10l
  12. sounds to me like cranking enrichment is not sufficient, CI is normally determined by water and air temperature. I would try disconnecting the ecu water temp sensor and the air inlet temp sensor one at a time, the ecu will then revert to circa 20c ambient temp ( not far off reality at the moment) and see if she is better - then if so, order new sensors
  13. what makes you think it's too rich ?. mate you working off the emissions readings at the mot station ? does the car have a cat ? i just don't want to see you waste a load of money ....
  14. what to do ?? well simply you either get on with acquiring a tank, loom, coolant pipe work, exhaust and ecu, or you pay someone else about £3k in labour or you sell it and simply buy another car. the duratec will fit in the engine bay - just as a zetec does but you also need to consider the axle and diff - is it strong enough ?. please don't take this badly but it sounds to me like your not really knowledgeable enough on the requirements of this project to take it on yourself ?.
  15. what spec is the cross low currently ?, injection ?, ignition ?. and what spec duratec are you moving to ?. if it's carbs and dizzy, I expect your better off getting the complete loom removed and a bespoke fitted , looms are available from most of the ecu suppliers, then wire in an injection fuel tank and plumbing .
  16. is the wear even across the tread ?, if not then this could point to a setup issue.

  19. power isn't all ...at curborough I did 56.99 with 247bhp and 57.99 with exactly the same car and set up but just 140bhp.
