  1. Dom, K maps can do this for you based near Gaydon 07928 196856 David
  2. I'm fortunate that I haven't hit it, it's for a new engine Rob at Ratrace is building for me using a vvc head and new block pistons cams etc i may just swap the sumps around when I swap the engine over, but I do like a spare in the garage!
  3. As per the title, it doesn't need to be perfect and i am aware that Redline have 3 in stock, im just trying to avoid paying £600 for a new one. I have a feeling i may be calling Redline DJ
  4. Well that's rather annoying, I thought h was first to respond by saying I was interested. Oh well you live and learn!
  5. Mark, I'm interested, where are you based ?
  6. My gut feeling was to go Emerald and i think the thoughts above confirm this. Thanks for the responses from all. David
  7. Mark, can i have this please. PM me to arrange collection David
  8. All, Before i invest in an Emerald ECU, i would like to ask if the existing Rover unit can be reprogrammed to suit revised cams/induction. I have seen Revilla's articles and if the Rover mems has now been unlocked, would happily save hundreds of pounds. Having said that, i know the Emerald system has numerous maps and has been extensively tested and would therefore be a simpler choice. I suppose my question is, are their sufficient tuning companies adjusting the rover ECU or should i go with the Emerald as it is "known" to more tuners. David
  9. Hilarious Tony, how tall are you as you look about 7'6" in that S3
  10. Great read, thanks for taking the time to record your thoughts. I took a friends son out in my caterham and when we got back he stated that we went so fast he couldn't breathe. Since then the windscreen has come off and i drive aero as its a sun/fun day car and the buffeting/vacuum effect has gone. let us all know how you get on with the rolling road after the rebuild!
  11. James, i would like to take these please, where are you located.
  12. Wrightpayne, do you have any details of how the bell tank wet sump plumbing works (diagram)? Im putting together parts for a dry sump system, purchased a bell tank from 21jigsaw and what you refer to could be a "half way house"
  13. Stunning scenery, enjoy the roads and weather!
  14. Well, its been a while (precisely 3 years in fact) since i updated this blog, so i had better start by saying that the bodywork remains in good condition, no doubt fitting the lowered floors, which involves removing the internal aluminium panels (providing access to the grot traps) treating everything in site to rust inhibitor and then spraying waxoil onto everything including myself has worked. The chassis was cleaned and found to be in good condition, with no issues other than a rub down and touch up on the front cross member where stones were thrown up. The lowered floors greatly improved the seating position for my 6'5" rugby player frame, but i haven't got round to refitting the internal aluminium panels as i would like to replace these with Carbon. I think i will have to use the old panels as a template and cut carbon sheet to match as they do not appear on the caterham website. Engine stand purchased and a, VVC engine fitted onto it, along with all the bits and pieces i have purchased over the years, i think it looks like art, my wife thinks I'm weird........ Lets see how long before i make another entry to this blog!
  15. I fitted mine in 2 hours from start to finish, have a look at the blog section of my profile. I think the drill bit was 8mm to drill out the rivets and it turned out I needed to trim approx 7mm from the top of the carbon fibre dash with a dremmel to make it fit It's one of those jobs that's more scary to think about than actually do...... David
  16. Giles, can you advise on the company in High Wycombe, as they are just down the road from me.

  20. Oily, thank you once again, I'm thinking hydraulic at the moment and the BP285H is now firmly in the cross hairs as I have a vvc head, verniers and blanking kit rj, thankyou for your google search thingy in your signature, I have suddenly found loads of refences to precisely my questions from 10 years ago, which I couldn't find before, And oily answered 10 years ago......? Must seem like ground hog day for you Oily. Actually, everyone is suffering from groundhogbday at the moment, roll on May 17th David
