  1. I was aware of your bonnet rubbing the coil cover Blue but didn’t realise it was a tight fit fore and aft. Must be lucky with mine all seem to have clearance or perhaps CC’s builders got it right for once!
  2. Thanks again there is a wheel manufacturer who has CSR as part of the brand name which sometimes causes confusion on ebay.
  3. Thanks I'll have a gander.
  4. Looking for a pair original spec.
  5. I got the bypass pipe from Caterham parts about a year ago.
  6. Let sleeping dogs lie!
  7. John I've no idea what happens at the MOT it's always passed so I never enquire! Usually have a quick blast round the lanes before leaving it but I'm never there for the test so it might have cooled before it hits the test shed. Finmac I didn't alter anything after the swap but then again I'm not that fussy.
  8. I put a bypass pipe on my R400 and it seems to rev a bit more freely. Getting rid of the cat certainly improves the looks and possibly reduces the load on the rear exhaust bracket. Passed its last two MOT's without the cat.
  9. Centre post carbon racing mirror in excellent condition. Comes with mounting plate. £100 including postage.

How dare they substitute Stony Stratford for Penrith!

    Shap

If Mr Rawes lived there during those dates he'd have the impertinent Scots to put up with! I wonder if the young pretender called for a brew en route south ?

Trust Uncle Monty behaved himself! Does Tim know the age of the building? Has a touch of Wuthering Heights about it!

    Shap

I was up there a fortnight ago renovations have taken place ........

    Shap

Had a quick run over to the site of the Jungle cafe (closed for many years) As usual the A6 south of Penrith was deserted apart from a few motor cycles. The road haulage memorial at Shap summit was under renovation.
  15. Thanks both for the pointers I'm trying to take in a bit of new ground so PeterM's suggestions should be interesting.
  16. I have to do this route later in the year during the holiday period. I've done it before under a bit of time pressure to catch a ferry so took the A303 and then down via Salisbury and that wood with the donkeys wandering about. Wondering what the options are, thought Honiton, Bridport on the A35 but could be a bit busy although no rush this time. Any suggestions gratefully received I wont have a passenger but not frightened of a bit of map reading. Thanks

    CSR Query

Thanks Malcolm I was at a trailer dealers with the cars external dimensions but wasn't sure of the clearance between the ramps. Your info shows there's plenty of clearance to go at. cheers.

    CSR Query

Just out of reach of my own car at the moment. Could anybody tell me the distance between the inner edges of the rear tyres with the standard 245 40 R15 fitted. thanks
  20. As I mentioned there were 3 accompanied motor homes on board plus several unaccompanied private vehicles. The service is run by Atlantic Containers Limited offices in Liverpool their agents below. https://www.cargoshipvoyages.com/ViewAllVoyages/?regiontoshow=1
  21. Ash, The service has been running for many years and about two with the newest G4 ships. I boarded in Liverpool and disembarked in Baltimore after stops in Halifax and Newark. The trip was enlivened somewhat by narrowly missing a shoot out at a Newark shopping mall during the pre Christmas sales.
  22. Christine, Thanks for the information I was going to put some feelers out in that direction. Regarding the Newcastle-Bergen ferry I'm in total agreement it would be very useful there's occasional murmurs in the maritime press about its return but nothing as yet. After my jaunt across the Atlantic and finding my 3 fellow passengers had motor homes onboard for an extended tour of North America starting at Halifax. I've started thinking of using the ACL roro service for a Canadian jaunt possibly in a 7. The 'Atlantic Sea' I traveled on had 7 roro decks and here's a deck cadet mopping one of them!
  23. Well it's worked well for me in various bits of the world. Traveling to an itinerary is like traveling in handcuffs. You have my details Dave so no problem talking possible dates I'm not hamstrung by family commitments or costs.
  24. Dave, Slip of the pen! Yes 2019 Nothing set down yet but it's been on the cards for a while. If you fancy a jaunt no problem but I don't stick to pre booked itineraries on road trips just use Tripadvisor to book a couple of days ahead.
