  1. You can tell the locals from tourists here Paul they never brake or try to avoid pheasants the blighters always jump whichever way you go! You hear them bumping under the car and then they stand up and wander off.
  2. I was thinking of removing my recently rebuilt CSR grill for a bit of titivation. However I've noticed the grill is now a one piece with the 7 logo attached to the mesh. Looks a fairly tight fit so any suggestions for removal apart from brute force. I assume the grill still comes out through the front? Thanks.
  3. If that garage was demolished probably room for two more?
  4. Come on Blue stop messing about its only an 1100 mile round trip to get the job sorted!
  5. Just back from Norway and noticed high octane options were available on Danish and German filling stations. Treated the car to a couple of tanks of 100 octane.
  6. Thanks Garth I've just ordered a Stak Pro gauge so hopefully it should do the trick.
  7. Has anybody done a straight swap of the fuel gauge without having to replace sensors etc. My original gauge (Caerbont?) appears mechanically dead and I'd like to replace it with a different option if possible. Thanks.
  8. Excellent roads in Norway but this is a bad time for motor homes, if you want to make progress get away very early and arrive midday. I've been mainly on back roads as the main E routes are 50mph limit and lots of speed cameras. I got stopped by police for a bit of bold overtaking but it was only to look at the car. Fuel everywhere mainly unmanned credit card pumps. I'm on the return leg now back via Kristiansand and across Denmark and Germany to Ijmuiden in the Netherlands. Be nice to drink beer where it isn't £8 a bottle!
  9. Over a rather dark and gloomy Trollstigen pass this morning.
  10. That sounds fine I'm amazed how busy Stanhope gets on a weekend coming back from the North York Moors it was standing room only when we passed through. Getting the ferry from Newcastle on Sunday en route Norway so I think some packing will have to be done.
  11. Mike is there a return route or just leaving it till on the day?
  12. I once stayed in the bridal suite at the Old Ship Inn Seahouses but can't remember who she was?
  13. 29th July. Paul will finalise the details.
  14. Normally shoved in the passenger foot well with the gin but in the boot with the straps attached makes sense.
  15. Green 7 turning towards Carstairs off the A721 about 09:00 this morning.
  16. Paul why not get the wife to blow a hunting horn as we pass through various habitations tomorrow as some small compensation till you get the induction fettled?
  17. Your certainly very patient Paul I felt worthy of the Nobel prize after changing the mirrors!
  18. I'll bring a big hammer Mike.
  19. If the sat nav took you over the dreaded Summer Lodge moor Peter you have my sympathy its not even a pleasant run in a Defender!
  20. Tell the wife to rub you with goose grease Mike.
  21. LADS party at the rather disappointing Otterburn Mill yesterday.
  22. Mike it was the LADS trip returning home after staying near Consett. I bailed out after Bollihope Common to head over Monks Moor to Middleton and home via Alston. The rest were heading home via Barnard Castle over the Stang and Grinton Moor to Hawes and Ribblehead. Had to put the hood on over Yad Moss and Hartside.
  23. The rear sensors on my S500 have always a bit contrary and from what I've been told even Merc spec ones have a short life. I was lucky a guy bumped the back of my car little damage but got a new suite of sensors on the insurance.
