  1. No joy with the meet at Colyton only one available too big for the holder.
  2. Thanks Phil how I loath Bank Holidays a total inconvenience to the leisured classes !!
  3. Paul, Just been into Halfords Tiverton but nothing available and had forgotten it was a BH on Monday and v early ferry on Tuesday scuppers any dealers. As stated I can start it on the jumper battery and once the engines warm it will fire up. I’ve been told about a motor cycle dealer in a nearby town so that might be a possibility. I’m sure Roger will be delighted to give me a push start for the duration of the trip!!!
  4. Thanks for the pointers and offers of assistance I’m hoping to meet with the Devon group tomorrow at Colyford so they might have some ideas. I have a jump starter with me so not completely immobile.
  5. Might have a look at a motorcycle suppliers I could use an odyssey at a pinch assuming the terminals can be altered.
  6. Thanks there’s a Halfords up the road in Tiverton I’ll see what they’ve got tomorrow.
  7. Anybody know of a retailer for Banner batteries in the Southampton/ Portsmouth area. On tour in Devon at the moment and then off to Spain on Tuesday with the L7c tour. Battery doesn’t seem to be holding charge and too late to head back north for my spare or sort out a mail order delivery. thanks
  8. Phil yes I’m booked in there with Chris and Roger.
  9. I was going to have a leisurely run down to Devon to stay with friends before proceeding to Portsmouth for departure on Tuesday. However I was advised it was bank holiday on Monday so its all hands to the packing and away either today or tomorrow I don't want to spend the weekend in jams on the M6/M5. Might wander down the A49 to Hereford and then back over one of the Severn bridges and hopefully a clear run through on the M5. Not been over the Clifton suspension bridge for years so might have a little diversion en route.
  10. It seems to be a common problem with CSR's also. As stated some slightly thicker foam or neoprene tape front and back cures it.

    Hartside

Green s3 parked below the top hairpin on the western side. No signs of life I was on the breakfast run to Whitfield in a yellow CSR.
  12. Alas the passing was too fast to notice Paul as I was chugging east in the 90 with a trailer.
  13. Pale blue with an orange strip heading west on the A66 lunchtime Monday.
  14. Mine departed with the cat.
  15. Yes I think mine died of old age!
  16. Just back from a spin and lens has disappeared must have cracked at the screw holes. Lens or complete unit if theres one going spare.
  17. Buttertubs is certainly the fastest route between Wensleydale and Swaledale but there's plenty of quieter alternatives such as Grinton Moor, Summer Lodge and Crow Trees. If you have a spare afternoon we could do the lot Paul.
  18. Great jaunt over the fells today Middleton-Brough-Sedbergh and onwards to Tan Hill via Hawes and the Buttertubs. Best bit for me was the final few miles up West Stonesdale to the pub.
  19. Hartside is clear I was on it 10 minutes ago. Assuming no more snow the suggested route should be ok at the weekend.
  20. Just been on the blower to the CB Inn near Tan Hill and am told the roads are perfectly clear. Alas the Tan Hill webcam appears to be tits up at the moment.
  21. And if they do a mini Stelvio en route Tan Hill!
  22. At least the naturist real ale drinkers weekend at Tan Hill is no more so there's no chance of a clash!
  23. Probably have a sheep as a hood ornament by the time we reach Tan Hill!. Never found the staff at Tan Hill particularly friendly must be a combination of oxygen starvation and cabin fever! https://www.tanhillinn.com/
  24. Staying at the CB Inn in Arkengarthdale over the weekend Paul helping with another clubs event but I'll be away on Sunday and meet you either at Middleton or somewhere towards the Fat Lamb. The pubs about 3 miles south of Kirkby Stephen on the Sedbergh road. Definitely worth going over Lamps Moss up to Tan Hill if the weather is kind and from there its a quick blast over the Stang back to Barnard Castle. I was quizzing a local shepherd about the collective term for the road from Middleton to Brough and he said its known as "Grains O' The' Beck road after the bridge at the mid point. A busy day in Brough!
  25. Dave after experiencing NC500 traffic and to avoid difficulties with motor homes at passing places I suggest a lead car.......
