  1. Some reason you've managed to post twice. Speak to Mike Barnby. Barnby Engineering, 2 Lakeside Park, Neptune Close, Medway City Estate, Rochester, Kent, ME2 4LT, England. Tel. 44(0)1634 711801 Fax. 44(0)1634 711766 Email:- mikebarnby@aol.com
  2. Good run Chris. Not sure about the camera position.
  3. Dorset and New Forest 7s are pleased to announce a “triple event” weekend from 19th to 21st July 2019. The weekend begins on Friday 19th at Poole Quay with “Quay for My Car”: an exclusive Lotus 7 and Caterham evening arranged by Poole Tourism with entry from 6 pm. This is a good opportunity for 7 owners to have a natter, grab some fish and chips and kick some tyres. There is no requirement to book: just turn up! Jon “New Cat” Lee will no doubt organise a pre-meet up before we drive in convoy to the Quay, and will post details on BlatChat. https://www.pooletourism.com/what’s-on/quay-for-my-car-p2392333 Following on from our extremely successful event in August 2017, Phil Roberts has managed to secure a return visit to Bucklers Hard on Saturday 20th July. In 2017 67 cars attended and this year we are hoping for as many, if not more. However we do have a limit on numbers so, if you do want to go, please book early. Entry will be from 10am and will include free entrance to the museum and there is an optional boat trip down the unspoilt Beaulieu River, which is well worth it if you are a first timer. It’s an excellent spot to bring your own picnic or close to hand there is The Master Builder’s PH, a café and an ice cream kiosk. Details of prices and how to book are as follows and are based on a group rate: Children Aged 4-12: £4.00 or £6.95 with a River Cruise Children Aged 13-16: £4.30 or £7.20 with a River Cruise Adults: £6.10 or £9.65 with a River Cruise Seniors Aged 60+: £4.95 or £8.40 with a River Cruise To book tickets please contact Phil by email, akapmr@yahoo.co.uk, providing details of tickets required, your car registration and model of Lotus or Caterham 7 that will be parked up. You will need to pay Phil by bank transfer – if you find this a problem you could ask a friend to pay on your behalf and sort out the cash with them. https://www.bucklershard.co.uk Finally, on Sunday 21st the Classic and Supercars Show takes place in the grounds of Sherborne Castle. Now back to a one day format, this is a cracking traditional country show with lots to offer the car enthusiast including trade stands, classic car auction, jazz and steel bands, craft fair and plenty of on-site catering. The legendary 5 times Le Mans winner, Derek Bell, will be celebrity guest on the day. Again, if you would like to attend Phil Roberts has arranged a discounted rate of £10 per car including all occupants. We have limited parking on the Club Stand, so please book early by contacting Phil on the email address shown above with details of your car. Alternatively, for any cars over the maximum number, Classic Car parking can be pre-booked or there is some on-the-day Classic Car parking. https://classic-supercars.co.uk
  4. Why not get them from Mike Barnby? He will spin you some up. Or Image Wheels, same 18 hole layout. Nick

  6. Avon ZZR and ZZS prices are pretty much the same anywhere you go, Avon, BMTR or Caterham. You either pay the prices or change tyre manufacturer. Sorry to bring bad news. Nick
  7. I have one. Ringwood area
  8. I used 1200 wet and dry and then fine wire wool and autosol polish. Not seen many cars with an exhaust that has more shine. Nick

  10. AP Suretrac 3.11 in mine.
  11. Blackbird fan switch is like the R1, 105 degrees.
  12. When I first got it about 95-105 but I found it easily overheated in traffic so put twin fans on the radiator, standard Blackbird bike one and put in a Suburu rad switch to cut in at 86 degrees and it's been fine ever since. Oil temp only gets really hot on trackdays and the pressure can drop really low on idle. I only have the 4.5 litre oil tank, talking to Matt Deakin I may go to a 6 litre one when I next have the car in bits for my gearbox upgrade. Nick
  13. Johnny Says 2 and 2.5mm allen keys required http://www.bikerhouse.com/testsite/minister2011/support/roller_barrel_setup_k-seriesr.php
  14. There was talk of 3D printing some SLR centre caps from a local member here in Dorset. Seems like a good idea. The same member made some centre caps by using some Rowntrees jelly pots, a real stroke of genius Nick
  15. Just to be clear the original SLR wheels were not Mike Barnby. Are you looking for the 5 spoke KN ones? If not then the Mike Barnby ones are available from him directly if the second hand route does not come up with anything as are the spun rims in every width. Nick
  16. Paul Good question. Interestingly my old log book, the blue one had emissions in the special notes next to the text saying it had passed SVA/IVA. The new red log book does not have these emissions so not sure if that info has been moved to a DVLA database that the MOT tester sees when he puts in your reg number? As it sounds like your car has had a transplant then I do not know how this is viewed by VOSA? I would have thought a transplant like this would need inspection and a new emissions level set or it would remain the same as the original K series? Nick
  17. I think the best thing to do is advertise them on here, and on the Caterham 7 Facebook Marketplace at the price you would like and if after a while of no reasonable offer either stick them on EBay or keep them and try again a few months later. They are worth what people are prepared to pay. Some will always try a cheeky offer, we all like a "bargain", in fact the more well off people are the more that seems to matter in my experience. Photos of the condition always help to sell even if you say they are immaculate/perfect/VGC/good condition/fair condition etc etc.. Selling cars, large items can be frustrating and this is why dealers do well. Good luck with your sale, someone will be along that was after new tyres, wheels and will get their bargain. Nick
  18. I have used the kit Ian recommends. My only reservation would be if you were involved in an accident with one that had been left in as a "permanent" repair and the tyre had blown out due to the temporary fix. I suppose you could argue thatyou have just repaired it, but not sure you would be believed. On the issue of runflats I understood that Michelin recommend one repair only before scrapping the tyre. Most tyre dealers don't want to repair them because they are a pain inthe neck to get off and on the rims. Nick
  19. Why don't you just buy CR500s, they are still available? Just stuck two rears on mine. Available from BMTR or Avon. Nick
  20. Darren Will try and send you a picture when I can. I may have some Di-noc film in the garage. Nick
  21. Used 3M Di-noc carbon fibre wrap and looks fine and protects car, and is lighter.
  22. Link to photos below. https://www.flickr.com/photos/charlieandhelen/sets/72157680151622216/ Looks very tidy. Got any of the engine installation? Nick
