  1. Just been flicking around as I need a new set of boots shortly and saw that Camskill have the Nankang NS2R trackday tyre advertised. I dont know anything about them. Anyone used them or can provide feedback ?
  2. Yeah , I saw that but limited information.
  3. Up for a new set of boots and have not seen any reviews yet on this new tyre. Supposed to be great in the dry and the wet ! Seen a couple of cars running them at trackdays so they are out and about. What they like compared to 888`s or AO48`s ??? Cheers
  4. Hope this helps ; Vignettes are compulsory in Switzerland on all national class 1 and 2 roads. There is only the 1-year vignette valid from 1 December of the preceding year until 31 January of the following year, i.e. 14 months
  5. Take the pads out and with an extra person press the brake pedal slightly ( providing all other wheels have brakes fitted and in place ) to tease out the piston slightly and replicate a very worn pad. Once you see movement then you know you have movement to turn it back into the housing. Having just done mine they were very stiff to start with.
  6. On a side issue - anyone know the correct torque setting for the calliper bleed nipples please ?
  7. From what ive been told the factory geo setup is basically check it has 4 wheels and the bolts are tight ! Get an indy to check it and set the correct geo for your proposed use. Its not expensive a very much worth it.
  8. DJ- See post #2, I agree with you !! Grubster - Exactly.
  9. I don't buy that for a minute. If they are getting fed up of fitting tyres then get another job. They get the profit from supplying the tyre (if they do supply) and they get the fitting fee on top. Not all straight forward tyre swaps need a new valve so that cost is irrelevant. Also, loose wheels mean no grief jacking up car or wheel fitment etc etc. The machines make the job a 5 minute affair. I just cannot see where the £18 per wheel is justified ...
  10. Thats is fooking ridiculous money. Places charge £18 per wheel for a tyre change on a car which includes a new valve and wheel weights........ On a loose set of wheels should be no more than about £7.50 a wheel I got stung big time swapping mine over as when I enquired how much to swap all 4 tyres over on loose wheels he stated " 20 quid mate". I said , lovely job only to find out when I went back to collect he meant £20 per wheel..... we then proceeded to fall out , but thats another story, piss taker I think if you have a ring round some places still charge a fiver if you buy the tyre with them but even at a tenner per wheel, its getting dear
  11. Just had exactly this ... Thread somewhere ... Not recognised by conditioner. Topped up cells and hey presto , registered and started to charge. Caught it in time before it was unrecoverable.
  12. Yes it was cold etc etc. The car has been sorn'd now as not used so no issues about being stranded. Plugged into conditioner to keep alarm active. Could be a low mileage hardly used Megan's cabriolet for sale soon as mums health means no more driving :-(
  13. Bolted back into car and was seeing 9.5v on cranking and 14.3v at 3k revs ..... Is that good ?
  14. Okay guys, thanks for the info.... Perfect. Will check the stabilized voltage then refit and double check.
  15. What would the voltage have to drop too , to point towards it being dead ?
  16. To add, the voltage was taken after checking and filling the compartments with water and then just having the battery sat on the floor disconnected. I was wondering if the charge level should settle at all ? I will re attach to car and check the cranking voltage.
  17. Long story short , mums car is off the road and her battery is flat. Dead as a dodo. Its a relatively new battery and has been on the optimate / conditioner before to keep it topped up. Forgot about it for a few weeks and the alarm has drained it to nothing. I`ve had it off the car and plugged into my conditioner / optimate for a couple of days now and the gadget tells me all is well. I have put a meter across the terminals and it started at 13.18v. A day or 2 later and the same battery is now reading 13.03v Is the only way to "really" check if the battery is ok , is too do a load check with the car running ?
  18. Indeed. I think there has been a slight improvement but I still suffer from "Buffer Face" ( vacently starring at the egg timer going round ) just like those adverts where Kevin Bacon so eliquently puts it !
  19. Popped back on the otherday and thought that it felt quicker , but then realised I was logged out. Logged back in and found it still to be quicker ( slightly ) so I post this and times it from the moment I press the button .....
  20. Its all a learning curve. Whilst letting car warm up use handbrake or check the surface is 110% flat ....... Doh ! A comedy moment not to be forgotten...... Cause everyone keeps reminding me !
  21. I'd rather not ta ...... ! :-0
  22. All sorted, thanks anyway
  23. Alot of trackday type tryes are going to fall foul of the new regulation being brought in which makes them illegal to use on the road. Not sure how it will be policed or what will happen to thos of us who have those tyres already fitted come the date in question ?? To the OP - surly the CR500 fit your requirment in every area especially as you dont track ?
