  1. Cheers Richard. Has anyone got any photos of the 2 different versions ? My car is an SV r400d if that makes a difference ?
  2. Seen a few videos lately on 7's having a shunt and got thinking that my FIA roll "Bar" is not enough BUT I like the protection of the full OEM hood. Is there an option which accommodates both or is it a case of one or the other ?? Cheers
  3. Yep I think you are right. looked at the site after clearing all my cookies so effectively not logged in and it was super speedy. Logged in and like wading through treacle again
  4. Tested the website today and the main Lotus 7 website is OK. As soon as you request the forum part it hits the buffers ... literally ! Still 7-10 seconds to load the page........
  5. I'm using chrome on my laptop. Every other website is almost instant except for this one that hangs constantly. Roughly timing after button press is approx 7-10 seconds.
  6. Can a tweak be made to the speed of the forum please. Like a really BIG tweak.... I`m paying all this money to Virgin Media for state of the art speedy broadband but the site is so slow its unbearable. (presses button then walks off to put the kettle on whilst page reloads) Pretty please with knobs on
  7. Hit a snag trying to take it all apart today. There is a pipe connection ontop of the sender unit. Black plastic with no obvious way to undo it. It is the fuel pipe connection and I`ve tried giving it a yank but dont want to break it. It looks like there is a small hole to insert a tiny flay head screwdriver so I did that and gave it a wiggle but still no joy. Anyone know the technique or "nack" ???
  8. Provided I had insurance I would go for it. Whats to stop you ? It`s not as if the car is suddenly going to be registered to someone else or its going to turn into anything else. Its your car , its insured , its got a number plate , its legal ( iva wise ) and it will be taxed. So what if it takes a couple of weeks for the details to get on the dvla computer - especially if the sun is out !!!

It does look good. Not sure about residuals though given battery technology is expensive and outdated the moment its invented ! Its a problem with all EV`s
  10. Yes agreed . It was the paint code I asked Caterham for and they just said "Powder White" - so helpful. I assume it will be a Ford "Diamond White" or similair and will find out when the colour sensor is used. Why do they have to be so secretive ?
  11. When initially hitting empty and first getting the car I found that it wouldn't accept more than 20 or so litres. I then ignored the empty needle and got brave but still can't get more than high 20's in it. Mine is an SV and I have been told its a 42 litre tank. Tomorrow is the day for sender out and some investigation.
  12. What is the difference between the three headers please as I cannot work it out it seems duplicitous and it strikes me that there could be a much better solution. What defines an "Active Topic" as apposed to a "New Topic" ? Will an "Unanswered Topic" be picked up in the "New Topics" ? If a topic is updated , will it be displayed in the "Active Topics" ?? Its all a bit confusing and I find myself clicking on all three headers to make sure I have read everything I want to but this means lots and lots of Topics Displayed I have already seen twice already by the time I get to the last header Can the three buttons be changed to : 1. "New or Updated in the last 24hrs" 2. "Your Bookmarked Topics" 3. "New or Updated Topics since your last visit" ???? p.s - is there a way to "mark all topics as read" ??
  13. Can I thread hijack and also ask ( just incase a paint guru reads this !) The code for Caterham Powder White ( well thats what they told me anyway ) ????
  14. Cheers SM25T , I`ll give that a go next time it reads rock bottom. @mic - I dont know is the answer as I have never driven it to dry. Once the needle on the gauge reaches absolute zero and then driven 10 miles I have drained the tank and gotten 10 litres out which means my fuel gauge is very very pessimistic. Mine is a Duratec R400 Without taking it apart I have no idea if the feed pipe sits at the bottom of the tank or there is a small gap. If it is at the bottom then I can see no reason why it would not use all the petrol in the tank ( not taking into account cornering forces and surge )
  15. As per title really. My fuel gauge shows totally empty but still has over 10 litres left within and just wondered if there was a "5 minute job" to rectify ???
  16. Apparently so. Today was the first day of trading for the Crawley side of the business as the main goto place. Dartford is staying but only to build new cars. Service, parts and sales all at the new place in Crawley. So I was told anyhow.
  17. Popped into Dartford today as I was passing and despite showing none in stock had 3 on the shelf !!! It was like a ghost town as the business has moved to Crawley today. Maybe I was the last Dartford customer for a part !! Still , all fitted and sorted now http://www.lotus7.club/sites/all/libraries/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/thumbs_up.png
  18. "As implied by "done its job" it is a sacrificial buffer/bumper. It looks so simple I would have thought could get one made up almost anywhere. Questioning also whether the chamfered and enclosed ends are really necessary? Simplify and lighten? Peter" Yep it has been crushed on one side after a particularly heavy landing on a very poorly constructed Italian road. If there is no obvious places to get one I`ll whip it off and take it down the local fabricators but for the £11 RRP it would probably cost more to make one !
  19. That's the one. I need to replace mine as it has done its job so need another... ?
  20. Caterham Out of Stock - anyone got one or know another part number as I presume it comes from something different Same as this : http://caterhamparts.co.uk/product.php?id_product=4344
