  1. Great evening blasting round only slightly marred by Brands being overly noise sensitive on the drive by sound check to the right hand exit duratec powered cars. Strange how all the cars black flagged were the same ! A small deflector jubilee clipped in place and a judicious bit of short shifting soon sorted the tricky noise metres. Other than that, perfect weather, perfect track manners and no stoppages Great to meet you Merrick and a few others who were schooled in the art of the coke can baffle ! Roll on the next one.
  2. Latest weather is sun from 4pm 😬
  3. Weather looks like a mixed bag with sunny spells and showers. I`ll be doing the sun dance tonight
  4. I'll be up for these. Is it restricted to 7's as I could probably fill 8 places with various normal cars if I was allowed to book these places ?? What does "session" mean ? Is it open pit all day or are we 20 minutes every hour or just one session ??? Cheers Edited by - chris956 on 1 Jun 2014 21:04:05
  5. Quoting Grim Reaper: 64mm high is the official motorcycle size, 59mm is 3/4 of the official car size which is 79mm. Maybe if you had requested motorcycle sized letters in a car format you would have got what you wanted. I have been using M/C size letters on my plates for the past 11 years and (touch wood) have had no problems. The plate sizes look right on such a small car. Edited by - Grim Reaper on 23 May 2014 15:27:34 Perhaps I should have checked but the website made it clear the 3/4 plate was the full legal size i.e a motorcycle size like you have. Hence posting up so others dont ahve the same problem as me should it be a huge concern for them. You are right about the look. Its far better than the huge landing strip the std size is
  6. Plate arrived safe and sound but the quoted 3/4 size import legal plate is not so. The letters and numbers have to be 64mm high and on my plate they are 59mm. It is a massive improvement on the look at the front of the car and without any badges , borders or silly slogans it does not look out of place at all. It also came with sticky pads at no extra cost so I am a happy camper
  7. I`ll be popping along to this
  8. Cheers guys , went with fancyplates in the end as A1showplates didnt do the 3/4 import size strangely. So I kept it semi legal
  9. I'm getting the hump with the enormous front numberplate and leaving all the legalities behind I want a smaller one instead. I've done a little looking about and some of the companies have got a bit of a hit and miss reputation. Has anyone used one recently with satisfactory results they would recommend ? Not looking to go postage stamp size but roughly the legal import car size ?? Cheers
  10. To finish off the thread once and for all I finally had the problem sorted today after a visit to CC Dartford. They installed a new windscreen wiper motor and hey presto, all back to how they should be....... Got there in the end
  11. Quoting markiebabes: 16 on the road i found perfect and 22-23 on track (hot) 😬 and be mindfull of standing water ☹️ 16psi sounds low but I`m comparing it to a normal car. Presumably its ok to run them this low due to the harder sidewalls ?
  12. Quoting CharlesElliott: 22-23psi hot (track) Thats kinda where I was thinking. I`ve stuck them at 20psi for road unless someone tells me thats totally wrong ?
  13. Whats peoples thoughts on the pressures both for road and track. I`ve used these before but on 4WD heavy but powerful cars but not on a dainty little 7
  14. I feel for you buddy as you have been messed about. I dont know whether it has been mentioned before in the thread as I confess to not reading all pages word for word but have a look at what the Porsche 991 GT3 guys have just been offered as a good will gesture due to the problems encountered. Would this be appropriate for you to mention and pursue ?
  15. Quoting DJ.: Just out of interest, does the PCB control all the dash functions or are there separate units for functions like wipers, indicators and lights? Sorry, I can't help my car has the old dash. Duncan I imagine it will do the lot. More strange behavior this morning : Put fuse back in - turn on ignition - wipers do one sweep and reset to off position. Go out for a drive and try wipers . They now work fine in all positions Get back into the garage 5 minutes later and try them again with engine off. Back to not switching off again. Turn on engine . No difference Fuse is now back out
  16. Thanks again .... the relay click is coming from the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) up behind the dash in the middle. I have disconnected this which shuts everything off. And then back and forth once reconnected. I`m getting to the point now where the car will be thrown back to CC to sort as its still under warranty seeing as a quick fix has been ruled out. Thanks all for your wisdom
  17. I`ve just got a white 7 and its flat white which I was told was a Ford colour - Frozen White which is available in Halfrauds. Maybe try that but its of no use if you have a candy / pearlescant or metallic finish.
  18. Nope ... I think I found the connection you are talking about and it is solid. New weird behavior encountered when the switch is on intermittent but the fuse is pulled out - I can still hear the relay clicking as if the wipers are moving intermittently as they should be ( but they are stationary ) presumably the fuse I`m pulling which is 10amp and the very bottom one is just for the wiper motor.
  19. Quoting John Hughes: Difficult to describe in words but the park switch is fitted on the top side of the gearbox on the end of the wiper motor and is where the wires connect into the motor assembly. When the motor is running but should be off try pushing pulling and jiggling the park switch, this may stop the motor. If it does then a zip tie pulling the switch down may work. Good luck Thank you ..... Off to turn myself upside down and investigate ....
  20. Zip ties in hand waiting ........
  21. Quoting John Hughes: Will probably be the "park switch" on the motor its self. A new switch (Mini / Land Rover) is about £10-15 on eBay. Sometimes a zip tie around the switch and motor pulls it down so it works again. Probably scuttle off to replace the park switch. Thanks for all replies. I did remove all connection from the rear of the switch itself but made no difference. Not familiar with a park switch but have plenty of zip ties so if you could elaborate that would be great ....
  22. Strange problem and wondered if the assembled knowledgeable masses have come across said problem before. Its doing my head in .... I have the press button R400 dash and the windscreen wiper button is illuminated dimly like all the others. One press ( button now illuminates fully ) and what should be intermittent is slow back and forth... One more press which should be slow is exactly that but without so many relay clicks from under the dash.... One more press and we get fast back and forth.... Heres where it gets interesting !!! One more press which should be Off actually de illuminates the button ( as if to tell me they are switched off ) but the wipers still go back and forth at the slow speed. Go back to point one and repeat !!! Only way to stop the wipers are to kill the ignition BUT when the ignition is switched back on ... you guessed it ... back and forth they go. I had a whole weekend of this which was fun. I then pulled the fuse and left it out until my visit back to CC crawley. The car must have known where it was as once the fuse was replaced it worked fine and the workshop guy now thinks I have imagined the whole episode. Fast forward to today where I think , you know what... I`ll just make sure .... back and forth , back and forth...... Ahhhhhhhh I have removed the fuse once again and replaced it thinking maybe the PCB needs resetting ( and was reset due to being out for ages prior to the visit to CC ) but as soon as it put it back in , off they go again ! So ... fuse is out. Wipers are inoperable. Any ideas ??
  23. It was me !!! Not the car from Midlands though.
