Clear repeater lenses/orange bulbs source

Weird 😳 I was thinking exactly the same thing!

I was looking at the supplied repeaters yesterday, and decided I didn't want them on my car - the silver bits look very naff

I've seen a couple of cars with Fiat Coupe / F355 side repeaters in the sides of the headlight which was neat. Westfields have a repeater in the body side which again is neat.

Got to get something that is guaranteed SVA approved though...

Cheers

Guy,

Especially with by black/ali colour scheme the orange ones don't look great. I've ordered the clear indicator lenses but have already fitted the repeaters (which might have been a slight mistake!) so was really after lenses that would fit the existing repeaters.

Oh well, first time out I'll smash them off no doubt so that might solve the problem *eek*

Haven't had a chance to look yet, but maybe worth looking (searching) for Motorcycle Accessories, they do lots of small indicators/repeaters which may fit the bill 🤔

They are landrover defender front sidelight lenses. I picked up 2 for a quid each from a land rover breakers. The bulbs are easy to get from halfords. If you find a breakers in yellow pages, I am sure you could get them for a bargain price!

Clear lenses and Orange Bulbs can be sourced from Classic Mini specialists. Try the Mini Shop in Enfield 020 88058085.

For Silver bulbs that flash orange try DT part number P12496SV £14.99 ☹️ the pair, or your local Max Power Shop here.

Hope this helps

I did this back in the spring and used the ones from VWP, I think they cost about £3.00 pair. I did however have to slightly modify them to fit and it was necesssary to drill an additional screw hole in the wing as the original two holes did not line up, will look tonight for the code number.

just bringing this up to the top again, did anyone manage to find a supplier of clear covers for the standard caterham repeaters on the wings or a supplier of a similar unit that can go ON the wing ( rather than IN the bodywork which most or the recessed ones seem to do)

Sorry to do this again......

I have the clear Defender side lights as the main indicaters, with orange bulbs. BUT I still have the standard repeaters in the cycle wings. Being as I know there are 3 holes under each one - big for wire and 2 small for mounting (why did I do what the build manual said *confused* - does anyone know of a source of clear lenses to fit the standard repeaters, and the cost 🤔

Cheers,

I need a solution soon too (MOT next month) -one of my orange lenses (wing repeater) has fallen off. Would like to replace both with clears...

Mine only have one screw holding the lens on - as fitted by Millwood - are these the same as CC 'originals'???

Yep, one screw holding the orange lens on.

I'm learning to live with mine. My car is Aztec, with black cycle and rear wings, but the repeateres can only just be seen from within the car, and don't annoy me too much.

Of course, if I can ever afford CF cycles.... 😬

See some pictures of the build here. Collected on March 1st!
