The replacement cost £65 inc painting & delivery, but willing to take best offer over £15 including P&P. Glenn

    Armour fend

Fitting Armourfend really is hard work if you do it yourself. I was advised to ditch their fitting solution and use a small amount of Fairy liquid in a bowl of hot water. Wet the body surface liberally, remove the backing and it should let you slide the film into place. It is actually a 3M product anyway (its printed on the backing sheet). Armourfend quote that it was developed together with 3M.... 😬
  7. or this: http://www.motrax.co.uk/Index_pages/accessories/flexicacut.htm An A3 sheet does each side. Its real carbon fibre weave with a strong flexible vinyl coating and 3M adhesive backing. Its as flexible as lightweight card and cuts with scissors. Ive used it and its great, stones dont damage it atall. They also do various other weaves, ie, ali & kevlar.
  8. I noticed at Brands yesterday that someone had mounted their side repeaters in the side of their headlamp bowls...it looked very neat with the lenses being very small domes.
  9. Myles Now I see why you were embarrassed...me too!!!! I did exactly the same as you, not realising it could be rotated and still have the inner cutouts at the same orientation. Obviously an easy mistake to make 😳
  10. Myles Just looking at your webpage, I noticed something different to mine. Your bolt holes are at 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 o'clock, mine are at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 even though the 4 'inner' cut outs on mine are at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. Very strange, or am I missing something?
  11. Myles I cannot believe the probs you are having just filling the car! I actually haven't filled mine since fitting, so it will be interesting to see what happens at the weekend. Even though the inner flange fitted ok, I would agree that it is a bit thicker than it needs to be. Would a thinner one help though? Im not so sure it will make much difference. Glenn
  12. Kermit Myles had this prob a week or so back. He was going to post a reply when he had it sorted. His filler flap is about an inch or so further down the filler neck than mine (mines about 3" max) and it sounds like you have the same problem.
  13. Meldrew Have you taken yours up Box Hill? You've got some nice roads over your way
  14. Mr Meldrew No flames unfortunately Do you have the cat bypass fitted? I do and the soundtrack has definitely improved since taking off the cat. Have you tried yours with Optimax? I'm wondering if it makes any difference as CC says it does. Slarty...I'm v. jealous... I'm sure the exhaust is repackable.
  15. R300 does it, especially after a hard run or being bogged down in traffic for a while. It was alot easier in a carbed HPC though ☹️
  16. Bedazzled..persevere, the screws will come out. They are just coated in thread lock. Mine were tight, but once the thread lock gives, they will come out easy. The screws are only short..
  17. Myles I took some dimensions from my car last night (2003 R300). It appears that the fuel flap may not as far down the neck as yours. I have some images I could send you, but the dimension from the fuel flap to the outer face of the bodywork is no more than 3 inches. Even allowing for the aero filler to project from the bodywork when fitted, it would be nowhere near the 4" yours measured. Glenn
  18. Excellent! Great info. Thanks Myles..much appreciated. Glenn
  19. Myles Do you have images of your 'problem'?? I got my cap yesterday and now you've got me worried.. Glenn gharman@handsa.co.uk
