Anton
In view of Mayor Khan's intention despite high levels of opposition to extend the ULEZ to include ALL Greater London Boroughs, has anyone any idea what would need to be done to a Rover 1.8k to make it ULEZ compliant? Is it even possible?

StevehS3
Interestingly, I entered the reg plate of my previous two EU3 K series 7s (2006 and 2012) and both are compliant on the online checker.
Livesey
Just checked my 2009 k series. That's ULEZ compliant as well.
Blackmamba
Due to the lack of emissions data / CoC for Caterhams, they just use the date to determine if the car is compliant or not. If registered post 2005, it will generally be compliant. If before, generally non-compliant. Even for the same car, engine spec etc.
DirtBuddha
My 2005 1.6 K Series is not ULEZ compliant.
Blackmamba
Euro 4 compliance (ULEZ requirement for petrol cars) was mandatory for all new registrations post 1 Jan 2006 (i.e. post 2005).
simon_h
#7 except that no UK Caterham has a euro emissions pass, eu4 or anything. They appear to have taken the age of registration in these cases and just let them through, for the time being. Probably just too hard to work it out for the civil servants in charge of it all
StevehS3
#8 That is what I make of it too. I was thinking my 310R was EU4 but I am not sure it is with non-Ford cams, ECU & map, air intake, spark plugs, throttle etc... Age is all they can easily go on for our cars. I suppose that works to our advantage!
eric
We have the same problem in France in ZFE area ( the big towns) after 2024 I cannot drive my 1600 K EU2 because I live in a ZFE ! I will look for a removal Company because my three other cars were not able to be used since 2022 september 1st..My daily car is a Caterham so :-)
Wrightpayne
Just be mindful that if you put a private plate on your ULEZ compliant seven, DVLA have probably cocked up its ULEZ status. They have done this with my 2018 VW transporter and now I need to get a letter of conformity from VW so DVLA can correct their mistake. This has happened to many Transporter owners - not an isolated error.
Simon420R
I've read about this happening too. I put a private plate on my 420R not long after I bought it and tentatively checked the ULEZ checker online. I was lucky but others have been caught out. John Vine
I've just checked my 2008 R400D with personal plate -- no problems at all (not that I have any plans to visit London)..JV
BigCol
I live within the ULEZ and my personal-plated (on from first registration in 2013) Sigma-engined 7 is listed as compliant.
Anton
Just been researching Rover MGs with 1.8k engines registered in 2003 for sale and checking if their reg is compliant or not using the TFL check site. Puzzle is some are, some aren't and I can't see what the difference is.
StevehS3
Were there different versions of the 1800K around that time? I think they ranged from 120hp to the 160hp VVC.
