graearea
I bought a second set of Motamecs for my side-screens to test that they'd fit with my custom mirror-mounts.here's a pros and cons of the Motamecs versus the SPAs from my opinion.pros: longer arms externally adjustable mounting screws (good for when you open your door and it knocks the mirror) matte black bodies slightly better clamping of mirror bodycons: not as convex. In fact they're barely convex (they were the convex ones) have "objects in the rear are closer than they appear" written on them smaller clamp with bigger holes for mounting. The holes are sized for M6 not M5. The doors are drilled to M5. The holes aren't counter-sunk so don't work as nicely with the bolts I have. the clamps are slightly uglier because of the mount bolts.I think I prefer the Spas due to the convexity

Youds7
How obtrusive is the wording on the Motamec mirrors?
7 wonders of the world
I have no problem with the mirror scaling on my Motamec's, fed up with the Spa's getting headache mid blat.
graearea
the wording isn't obtrusive. but I'll happily swap a set of motamecs for your spas :D
graearea
if you have spas, I'll happily hook you up with some of these for a few quid. they increase the pressure all across the ball instead of just at a couple of points with the grub screw. the grub screw IS dished at both ends but it's not dished enough to contact the ball so I made these funkily shaped things. they have the cup on one end and the not-dished-enough profile on the other end so they fit nice and snug. these + a drop of loctite and I reckon you're golden. I've not put them on uberniche.co.uk yet as I've not really tested them for long enough
graearea
some updates on this. I've heard grumblings that some suppliers don't want to deal with Spa anymore as they're unreliable. I know they're currently available at merlin and demontweeks but be careful as kitcardirect are selling "spa-style" which appear from the photos to be motamecs, meaning not very convex but a base with a grub-screw. just as an aside, I now also sell these:
Ant2
@graearea would these still fit with your adapters -https://www.kitcardirect.co.uk/westfield/exterior/mirrors/spa-style-formula-f1-wing-mirror-carbon-pair.html I do prefer the carbon look, incidentally has any one else tried these ones out? if not are these the one's most people are using https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/spa-design-formula-high-impact-nylon-race-mirror-246438/ ? graearea
the KitCarDirect ones are motamecs. confirmed by one of my customers. I'd recommend the Spas as they're more convex (and so actually useful). Merlin do sell CF ones but they're £400/pair
Brownmonster
I have both (not yet fitted) but the spa ones are much better in terms of "how much you can see"! The momos do look nicer though with the CF and are miles cheaper if you want that look. They don't fit graeareas adapters though without a bit of persuasion (and certainly don't fit the aluminium adapters that are also on offer!) L7 FST
Another vote here for the Motamecs - they look as good as the Spa, they work better (the grub screw is simple and really effective at holding them firmly in place, and the modest convex factor is well suited - at least in my opinion - to track use), and they're about half the price. What's not to like?

Graham Hutton
I'm enjoying my motamec side mirrors on the aero screen but I need a carbon post mounted central mirror that matches...... and Motomec don't make one! Anyone know of one that looks very similar?
