Wrightpayne
I find Autoglym Magma (called liquid clay in the professional range) with a soft brush, to agitate, is good at removing such particles.Dont forget your 10% at Halfords!

oilyhands
Bilt Hamber wheel cleaner is very effective.I have tried a large number of different cleaners over the years and this is the best non acid type.Oily

Wrightpayne
Matt,When I've had stubborn bits of pad embedded in the wheel I've use the edge of an old plastic card (AA, storecard, debit etc) and neat soap as a lubricant to gently dislodge the bits. On some occasions I've had to polish the wheel coating to bring the lustre back. I've noticed there does seem to be areas of concentration of these stubborn bits specific to direction of wheel rotation. If you're struggling to shift with the above products perhaps try a small area using my technique? AdrianC
I have tried loads of different manufacturers. Bilt Hamber is the only one that actually cleans off brake grime and it works!

GulfSeven
If you use Magma and Wheel Protector from new you shouldn't need to use Clean Wheels (or Custom Wheel Cleaner which is more gentle on painted wheels). Those are the Autoglym product names, but all brands have their own fallout remover, wheel sealant and wheel cleaner equivalents.
