  1. Have you had it set up for you in current form? It might improve things significantly without the spend. I don’t think ride comfort is really a thing in 7s (although I don’t personally mind the ‘connection’ with the road). Car shouldn’t really be skipping unless you are giving it the beans.
  2. Hi, I’m looking to fit one of these on my dry sump 420R (had one on my Sigma and greatly improved warm up time for oil). My last one was fitted by PPE. Does anyone know what type I need for the 420R and is it a simple job to fit? Thanks, Chris
  3. Agreed on location but as the previous post just mentioned I think there is a pre-fitted bund ready for the sensor in the tank, which seems a bit weird.
  4. Is this the drain plug in the tank, or is it the larger one where the finger filter is fitted?
  5. Hi, I’m looking to fit a dual temp/pressure gauge to my dry sump 420R. I know there is an option some folk use with the water temp gauge and a switch, but I prefer this alternative. I understand that there is a pre-drilled space in the dry sump to fit a temp sensor. Is this where most folk choose to fit it (and before I start digging around, where is that located - top or bottom/ near side offside etc). Presumably I need to drain the oil to install? Thanks Chris
  6. Hi, I’ve got a long stem (100mm) SPA centre mirror - flat glass - that is available for sale. Plain black ABS, looking for £80 inc UK shipping. Good condition. Alternatively I would happily swap for a short stem (40mm) version. Thanks, Chris
  7. It should just come off if you tug hard enough 🤭 if not then some mole grips should do the job. Angle grinder sounds extreme. Fitting the new one is the real bugger. There is a lip on the underside of the lever that you need to grind down to get the new cover on.
  8. Hi, I’m taking the leap with TBs for my 420R and wondered if anyone happened to have a carbon airbox that they might be willing to part with for the project. For an S3 so will be poking through the bonnet so nothing too tatty. Have already spoken with Neil (7 Wonders) about the one he has advertised, just seeing what else is out there. Cheers, Chris
  9. I think the hole in the bonnet is inevitable. just as a ballpark, what will the hole in the wallet look like for TBs Inc mapping etc?
  10. With the sad demise of Premier Power, what options are out there for throttle body upgrades for a 420R (and of those, who would anyone recommend)? Cheers Chris
  11. Hi, I’m looking for an indoor ‘stretchy’ type cover for a Caterham S3. Any available before I buy new?
  12. I’ve just had a set delivered and shall be endeavouring to fit them tomorrow (if my hands don’t freeze off doing so). Will report back.
  13. Hi. It won’t hold it in landscape, but should be fine for the 12 mini in portrait. It goes from 75-89mm width.
  14. As per title, 3d printed scuttle mounted phone cradle with universal phone holder. Have now switched to a MagSafe cradle due to upgraded phone. £30 plus £5 postage anywhere in the UK.
  15. Sorry for the late reply - it’s for an S3. I got in touch with Steve at YC and he confirmed £115 plus shipping for a pair so I’ll buy new I think!
  16. Bargain of the century for someone
  17. Sorry #2 and #3 - I did mean the rack, not the column! #4 - yes I’ve got the ‘text rich’ version of the build manual. I was hoping someone might have made a handy video, but I guess it is just a case of carefully unfasten, replace, then refasten taking #6 post into account?
  18. Hi, Does anyone have a guide to fitting a quick rack steering column? I didn’t self-build and although I’ve looked at the build manual it suggests fitting the column before fitting the front suspension. Can I just disconnect the old column and replace with the new one or should I be taking it into a garage to do it? Thanks Chris
  19. Would you sell them separately? Potentially interested in the side screens (are they actually CF - can’t work it out from the photos). How have the doors been attached previously? I can’t see any pop holes. If you will separate, what would you be looking for and where are you based? Thanks Chris
  20. Hi, Has anyone got a set of half doors available? I’m looking for the sort made by YC Plastics or another similar GRP / ABS door. I’m not a fan of the vinyl / fabric type and don’t want to spend £££ on carbon. Thanks Chris
  21. What pressure cap Colin and was it a straight swap? (accepting that Stuart probably did it for you!).
  22. I didn’t think I’d be doing this, but after finding another car which is my (even more) ideal spec I’m putting my beloved Caterham 7 up for sale. This car has a great history to it - built by a group of Caterham enthusiasts to a top quality standard in 2020 and registered on 1 December 2020 (70 plate - please note existing plate will likely be transferred to new car). The car has had one owner from new (me!). The car was built and sold to raise money for a special needs school, which was covered extensively in the local press. The car has a special ‘Greenfields Academy’ nose badge to mark its origins. What started life as a humble Roadsport 125 has been through quite a transformation in my hands - upgradeitis certainly took hold of me pretty quickly. Having owned it for about 9 months I booked it in to Premier Power and had it upgraded to full F190 spec, driving the free-revving 1.6 Sigma engine to a red line of 8k rpm and making it sound like an absolute dream when the throttle bodies open up in full over 4k, but mapped to be totally drivable at low speeds round town (this was essential as I live in London!). Has to be heard to be believed. At the same time I had various other essential PP upgrades, including their ‘Cat in the Can’ sports exhaust. In 2022 I fitted a Tracsport diff (and a diff strut to stop the cradle snapping with the power) and fully adjustable Bilstein dampers (along with a DPR flat floor set up at DPR for an 80kg driver) and rear ARB. The car has also been significantly upgraded cosmetically with a carbon dash, aero and rear light blocks. It has LEDs all around, including front DRLs. The car is currently sitting on staggered 13 inch CXRs, with ZZS tyres with around left 3mm on. It also has GT seats (the most comfortable sports seat available) and Schroth 4 point harnesses. It has just turned 3 years old (today!) and has done around 7,600 miles (mix of road and track, including some epic road trips in total comfort with those GT seats!). Just back from a full service / fluid change at DPR (oil and filter have been changed every 6 months since new) and has a full 12 month MOT to December 2024. The bodywork isn’t immaculate but it’s has been driven like it should be rather than polished and put away without driving. Garaged throughout its life and PPF’d on all key areas for extra protection (other than bonnet which is absolutely brand new as a gust of wind led to a dent in the original!). I’m looking for £31,500 for the car with the spec listed below. The only reason I’m selling is that my head got turned by another, but this is everything you need in a Caterham and to many an absolute sweet spot in terms of the engine (and very capable of keeping up with a 420R). Full spec: S3 Caterham 7 -Roadsport 125 (ULEZ compliant) Premier Power F190 upgrade (see https://premierpowerengines.com/premier-power-f190-upgrade/) Premier Power ultra-light flywheel and clutch Premier Power ‘cat in can’ sports exhaust Windage tray and oil catch can Carbon airbox Exhaust wrap Mechanical oil temp / pressure gauge Tracsport LSD Diff strut Front and rear ARB 5 speed type 9 gearbox FIA track day roll bar (‘X’ style) Lowered floors (both sides) Adjustable Bilstein suspension JWM 4 pot big brakes w vented discs DS2500 brake pads front and rear (10mm front and 6mm rear remaining) Uprated racing brake master cylinder Quick release momo steering wheel 13 inch staggered CXR wheels with ZZS tyres (Apollo wheels available as alternative - see below) Carbon dash Battery master cut off switch GT leather seats 4 point harnesses - driver and passenger LED headlights, indicators and rear brake lights (clear lenses) Carbon rear brake light block / rear plate light holder Carbon boot cover Heated windscreen Official Caterham carbon aeroscreen Full doors with ‘Eccles’ mirrors USB / C charger Premier Paint Guard PPF applied to all essential areas Extras - Swap CXRs for brand new 13inch staggered Apollo wheels with brand new ZZS tyres + £750 - half hood + £150 Car can be viewed in London (SW9) - photos or videos available on request or drop me a message for a chat directly.
  23. Rear view mirror now sold to David. Aero still available.
  24. Hi, Genuine Caterham S3 Aero available for sale. A tiny bit faded in a couple of spots but otherwise in great condition. £300 Carbon rear view mirror (long stem). Mirror has a couple of spots but CF is in great condition. £80 Can be shipped at buyer's expense (I have a suitable box and packing - will be around £20 for the aero I reckon). Please message me for photos (can't do it from my phone on this!). cheers chris
