Hello TomB

I have ordered 1m of  5/16" Codan R9 hose and will order 13-15 mm Oetiker clips (Advised by supplier this is the size for the pipe OD)

Stand to be corrected just waiting to see if single or double ear clips are the ones to use

Use the ones with a sliding liner in, which are normally single ear, would be my only comment.

The ones without can nip the rubber hose when it closes up and cause leaks or issues later

Thanks. Hose readily available on eBay, but it's not cheap is it. How many oetiker clips are you going to use to secure the various fittings?

Thanks for the updates, In the past I have always used the s/s hose clamps, but for some reason the trend in various posts makes out the Oetiker clips to be the way forward.

I would only use a Oetiker branded clips even those others are available on e bay - not too sure if the Caterham 2 eared clips are branded..

I suppose you pay your money and make the choice- however buying the hose and 4 clips is a more cost effective route than buying pre made hoses.

I wouldn’t have thought there’d be a problem a Mikalor equivent clamp, they are a good brand. I only liked them as I couldn’t find a small quantity of single ear Oetiker clips on eBay.

All, found those. Noting you said you’d bought 1m of pipe, this won’t be enough to do all the rubber fuel hoses on a K series. Don’t forget there is the longer low pressure return hose from the fuel rail back to the tunnel, as well as the shorter ones from the pump to the filter and from the metal pipe in the tunnel to the fuel rail. You’ll need 2m maybe a bit more. I’ll try and measure later.

Thanks Tomb, I missed the return hose need to check out and buy more hose and clips.

That is a good price from advanced Fluid Solutions - I was influenced by previous posts recommending Gates,Codam, Goodyear or Conti

AFS is exactly where I bought my fuel hose ! It's a nice drive in the 7 from here. Also bought the type of fuel hose clamps I linked to above from them

Thanks. These Oetiker clips - do I need a special tool, or will pliers with jaws like these be OK? I've had these pliers in my tool drawer for years, borrowed from my Dad but I've not had a use for them - possibly until now!
