virden
A cheap way of putting oil in is to temporarily remove the nipples and then inject the oil by means of a large syringe. -50cc and above. Available for pence from your local vet. Messy but effective
flaps7
I have successfully got oil into the trunnions using a grease gun and thought I was doing the right thing but..............specialist 7 garage (and there were 3 very nice looking 7 in the garage when I collected mine) told me to use grease. Oh well; "I solve my problems and I see the light,We gotta loving thing, we gotta feed it right" so in this case gease is not the word.Rick
Mort
"so in this case gease is not the word"You're right, it's grease. I seem to remember (18 years ago now) that the beauty of 3 in 1 oil was that it could be applied straight from the can.

flaps7
so..............wots the 'easiest' way to remove the grease so that I can oil?
David Mirylees
Short of taking the trunnion off, maybe pumping the oil in may force the grease out?Never had to try it but I suppose it depends upon the viscosity of the grease v oil. Should be quickly apparent after a stroke or two....and apologies the manuals state EP90 (not 80)
elie boone
If it's a new trunnion you may find that it sometimes can leak oil, therefore i put some grease in first, say 5 pumps from a grease gun, then i fill with EP 90.
