Titanium7
My Pride and joy is for sale due to a R500 itch that's got to be scratched. Posting here before it goes on Pistonheads at the weekend. Late 2009 S3 owned from new very well sorted car fitted with what was one of the last Rover engines Caterham had. Carefully upgraded over its short life with all the best bits and looked after by a combination of Caterham Midlands, Clive Kenricks, Dave Andrews and Dave Walker for the major work. The car has been cosseted by me ensuring it has always been brought up to temperature before driving and multiple oil changes each year. Totally reliable with no faults or issues. All engine upgrade work completed by Dave Andrews on the three trips to him over the life of the car. It's only been used for touring and weekend blats and has seen a track once, Mad Hatters Llandow day last September before the final upgrades at Dave's over this winter. The mileage has just turned 15.5k with only a 1000 on the new upgrade which took it from a 1.6 to a 1.8 which in effect was a new engine. Car details - Always garaged Ferrari Grigio metallic paint Leather seats Unused Full weather gear Windscreen + wipers New aero screen and mirrors Carpeted interior 260mm leather Momo steering wheel with Rapfix QR DRE programmable shift lights Smaller 5 1/4" headlights R500 clear lenses on all lights Carbon wrap round rear mudguard covers (Millwoods) Carbon Sills 4 point Luke/Caterham QR belts Metric (cross) FIA roll bar Caterham 8 spoke wheels, 6" fronts and 8" rears shod with new Toyo 888's (only a month ago) Wide track front suspension with adjustable platforms all round Immobiliser Aero Fuel Cap High level brake light Start Button 12v Socket Titanium 7 grill, (well it would wouldn't it!) Car Flat floored by Clive Kenrick last year Engine and transmission BMW diff (with upgraded Cage) with Titan Carbon fibre LSD Ford type 9 - 5 speed gearbox Rover EU3 1.8 engine Jenvey throttle bodies with Emerald adjustable ram pipes Bernard Scouse Air Box and new Piper cross socks if you like noise! New R500 ultralight Flywheel Omega Forged Pistons with floating single tang rods and new crank all dynamically balanced with the flywheel and clutch at Vibration Free Piper Verniers Manual tensioner with new cam belt with the last upgrade Apollo anti-cavitation system plus DVA mod to sump New Radtech Extreme radiator with large fan PRRT thermostat Heater Powerspeed 4-2-1 exhaust with built in medium flow catalyst. Emerald K6 ECU with three maps and switch (Full Power, Touring and MOT) Tax and tested. Car was mapped in this spring at Emerald after the engine upgrade and achieved 203BHP and an impressive 156ft/lbs (graph available). This is a well looked after well presented 'wolf in sheep's clothing' Caterham. It is very tractable around town but capable of R400 performance when you hit the loud pedal. It has and is a totally reliable car with a full history right from its build, every receipt available. Some recent images here £18,350 The car is based in Shropshire and available for viewing. SUPERLIGHT91
That was lovely - not surprised its sold, I remember seeing it on the cover of low flying in the past. - lovely I spotted this unsuspecting looking beast earlier with similar horsepower - and cunningly disguised so it looks like an old classic and not a racing car.... Ian B
Isn't that Chris Clarks seven? I know he was going to sell it ☹️
SUPERLIGHT91
It certainly looks similar - Mick Smith would know if it is, I recall Mick did a lot of the work on an 1800 replacement engine & gear box a few years ago.
