Delbert
Not sure what to search on . I want to tilt my Tillets back to help improve the driving position ISTR something about 4 washers ? . Guess they would fit under the slider ? Basic geometry tells me if I raise the front of the rail about 10 / 20mm the head rest end of the seat should move back Search only led to an Ikea chopping board - being a mechanical fool it has to be an off the shelf solution
Delbert
Ok, found an old thread about tilting leather seats I guess the rail is the same regardless of seat? So, washers go between seat and rail as opposed to rail and floor ?
Area Representative Golf Juliet Tango Posted January 20, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted January 20, 2014 Delbert I think the approach would be: loosen the bolts holding the seat to the runners (all four of them). add washers at the front between runner and seat (so runners remain level) tighten all round. Easy to write. Awkward to execute because of where the bolts are (inside the runners). You may have to do this a couple of times to get the angle right. 6speedmanual
Steve Tillett sells black plastic Tillett branded spacers. I don't think they are particularly expensive and very off the shelf compared with re-engineering chopping board. Btw, 20mm sounds a HUGE amount. I think that would move the headrest back around 60mm. P
myothercarsa2cv
I have a few left over if you'd like them? BM me your address if you'd like them. I think the washers are about 2-3mm thick.
Mark Durrant
Delbert These are the spacers although you can also use this here between the rail and the seat.
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted January 21, 2014 Leadership Team Share Posted January 21, 2014 Mine are tilted with an additional 20mm under the front (between seat and runner). Stu.
Simon.Rogers1
I have 45mm under the front of a fixed seat on lowered floor. Nice low position and keeps me well clear of the cage. (No I can not really see the nearside front very well)

Roger Ford
Don't forget you'll probably need longer bolts if you use several spacers. I think the bolts are 8mm caphead.
