Rev Limiter

RS2000

Recommended Posts

From the rolling road session I had on my 1996 1.4 K supersport MEMS I am going vote for 7,450.

Scared the crepe out of me as Oily said that as my 1.8 conversion was only non-forged pistons I shouldn't stray north of 7K....

Thanks for all the responses, I'm fairly happy now that I'll have one, so don't need tio think installing an after market one - having owned the car for 19 hours now I didn't want to find out the 'hard way'...

Yes, it has a limiter at 7,000 rpm. I can assure you they work, having hit it a large number of times....

An Academy car is not a Supersport, it has the standard Caterham ECU but with a race map which overfuels a little to aid cooling - it has been shown on rolling roads to have slightly less power than the standard map.

A good question.

There does seem to be a general view that threads in tech talk should be left open so that they can be resurrected at a later time if things change or someone wishes to ask a follow-on.

I would leave it open.
