GordonW
I'm in the process of renewing all these and in the set I got from Caterham parts I have a short right angle hose which I can't seem to locate the position for....any clues please? It's on carbs with a heater.
Mavic82
How interesting, I was just about to post asking whether any of the small hoses were shaped rather than just straight. I would guess the smaller right angle hose goes between the inlet manifold and the sub tube? Are either of the other hoses on the sub tube shaped? I am plumbing mine up with a new sub tube and struggling to get straight lengths of hose to fit. I assume the sub tube is mounted with the three small outlets facing up? Dickie Normuss
It depends on whether it's the 2l or 1600 vx? On the 2l the short pipe to the sub pipe goes through a tight 180 degrees, not 90. GordonW
Hi Guys, mine is a 2 litre, there are 7 hoses as supplied by caterham parts 1 large goes from top rad to thermo housing 2 large goes from bottom rad to metal sub tube on inlet side 3 small goes from 1st outlet (yes facing up) from sub tube to expansion tank 4 small goes from 2nd outlet on sub tube to heater 5 goes from 3rd outlet on sub tube to inlet manifold and has 90 angle 6 large goes from rear end of sub tube to bottom of block it's the 7th and shortest small hose with right angle bend that I can't see a home for ? Mavic82
Is the 7th hose a duplication of the 5th hose? It sounds like that's the hose I am missing!. Cheers Guy
Dickie Normuss
Just been and looked at mine and can't see that hose anywhere. GordonW
Hi Mav/Ric, the 7th is shorter than the 5th so not a duplicate, it may just be a mistake by the parts dept, are your total number of hoses 6 as described?
IKB
Gordon. I have the build manual for the 1.6 8v Vauxhall car (although I don't know why they call it that as the engine definitely is GM Holden....probably better known by the Brits) and there are 6 hoses illustrated and just as you describe. No info on the 2l. Edited by - brunel on 1 Mar 2009 15:44:
GordonW
I think I've got a trusty old Haynes manual somewhere for the Cavalier so may seek it out......
Area Representative Nick Chan Posted March 1, 2009 Area Representative Share Posted March 1, 2009 How about the small hose that comes out of the heater into the heater valve? Is this a 90 degree one? Mavic82
Phoned CC parts today and they told me there was no special 90 degree hose for the inlet manifold to sub tube, but I could use one of the two they supply for the heater. Guess that answers both our questions. Guy
