Steve Cornford
Should there be handbrake warning light on Sigma engined cars? Sigma SteVe

The Pikey
The switch was is on the hand brake but theres no light on the dash. I guess the switch is there for some other country that has regulations for a hand brake light on the dash. Jason Currently, I am qualified to plead ignorance. Area Representative Richard Price Posted April 18, 2008 Area Representative Share Posted April 18, 2008 I'd guess that the switch is there because the hand brake lever is a standard Rover 100 assembly that comes complete with the switch.
Martin Hay-Plumb
The switch on the handbrake is superfluous - nothing to connect it to. Any car which holds together for a whole race is too heavy....C Chapman
Jason Plato
The switch is there for the optional launch control performance pack upgrade. The upgrade is only available to Japanese 4weel drive models Taffia rear gunner
Gasmaninaseven
Dave 😬 If you are building- just take the switch off and bin it! I don't like the way the handbrake stands up when in the off position in my car (a "metric" chassis phenomenon ) and gets in the way of the gearlever. I've just modded mine by drilling a new front mounting hole in the handbrake assembly so that the lever can sit flush in the tunnel cover. The steel is v.hard and the cover a squeeze to refit but the result is good Neil Build pictures here Guantanamo Bay Orange SUPERLIGHT R400...... Steve Cornford
Thanks for all the replies. Just wondered what the ( ❗) light to the right of the ignition warning light on the tachometer was for! I have asked CC and they say this is only for CSR or EU4 cars. Although I lust after Climate Control, I know that for a Sigma it is as hard to come by as an owners handbook. As for the handbrake being too close to the gearlever, CC have redesigned a handbrake, but are still awaiting for the prototypes to be signed off.
