Brake pads...

What is recomended for use in the standard (triumph) calipers?

I've been running Green Stuff pads for the last few years and thery have been very good. I've not managed to "cook" them on trackdays (as reported by others) but they do seem to be losing their edge.

I feel like I'm having to press the pedal harder than before to stop the car to am looking to upgrade.

A quick search of the archives reveals Mintex 1144 as popular.

Pagid RS15's also sound very good but are noisy??? and expensive.

Also, would new discs make a difference (drilled).

Your advice would be appreciated *smile*

I would say that moving from Green Stuff to 1144 was the best single upgrade I made to my car *wink*, It now feels like it is being stopped from the front rather than the rear.

[i should in all fairness add that I think I may have slightly contaminated the inner pads of the Green Stuff with grease 😳]

Pagid RS14's are expensive but VERY durable. Greenstuff used to last max 2 trackdays and they'd be down to the metal. RS14's are lasting over 10 trackdays for me. I've heard reports of squeeling but mine never have. Pretty good from cold, fine for road use, very good on track.

1144's - never tried them but seem very good value and ECR uses them to very good effect.

'd be interested to know where's a good value place to get the MIntex pads as I'm looking at updating my standard pads.

Got mine from CC - well they are only a couple of miles away !
