  1. i thought long and hard about the factory bar, or the FIA with petty. it took longer for me to type this than to get the FIA/petty. my head is valuable, which is hy i bought a more expensive helmet than necessary. do the maths, is cheaper really better ? i think not ❗ Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....
  2. i guess i don't understand why. if the rears spin, which they do, and you put a stickier tyre with more grip isn't that a good thing? why would you, providing you were of limited funds(just now) not keep the two good ao21's on the front and just continue to wear them out? curious, and willing to be educated 😳 Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....
  3. count -- you have email. i might want to buy your MBE for my VHPD Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....
  4. my ao21r's on the front are with 4500 miles almost new looking. my ao21r's on the rear are quickly approaching needing new tyres. any reasonable reason to not put 32's on the rear, and continue with 21's on the front 🤔 Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....

    Oil usage

our VHPD used none for the first 1500 miles. then from 1501 -> 3500 it consumed 1/2L. now it's back to durn near zero consumption. the best trick i was shown, by one of the guys at rat race was how to read it. i'd used the dipstick which is (a) useless, (b) wrong , and © not a true indication of the amount when the engine is running. make sure the engine is fully WARMED UP, and leave it running in idle. take bonnet off... where the dipstick goes in, there is a part that it mates to with a blow off tube on it. turn that piece until it comes off and peer down with a torch. oil at the bottom o the tube ='s OK, oil below that means add some slowly. Fog light

mine are wired to dipped beam, am considering bulb upgrades to headlights and sidelights. learned about some new Philips "Cool Blue" bulbs that are traditional wattage 60w/45w but double the intensity (and are UK legal) so you don't have MOT problems. Seem to be about 20 quid/bulb Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....
  9. our SV has a button on the pedal type, convient and easy peasy to get to in the box...just don't short the wires or you get to get a fuse(s) as well there are two wires going to the brake fluid resovoir but i don't have a clue where they go do, and haven't chase dthem down Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures.... 10. when ours failed, we just put a new one in. stamping on the brakes worked for about 1 day. i got a rover part which did the trick and fit right into the pedal box hole the old one was in. Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....

  13. rat race, and simon lambert are familar with my failures. in all fairness, no one could come up with *why* the failures. you probably will get 1-3 replacements, and still may have the problem. IF you move to mechanical one, then you'll have to get someone to wire in the lights to them, which is a 5 minute job as it's all mechanical. even tried replacing BOTH speedo and sensor, that worked on trial 3 for 80 miles i've road tested, and keep meaning to put on decals indicating correct speed so i don't have to think too hard about what speed am i doing. i will do this next, by road trialing against a known reference car. 14. sorry i forgot to point out where it is(thanks hoopy) but both mechanical and electronic use the same hole. the electronic one has black plastic sleeves with 2 or 3 wires in it.... Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....
  15. this is EXACTLY what our new SV did last year. in the space of 2.5 months it ate 3 senders and two speedos. in fairness no one know why at the factory . in the end, the factory gave us a mechanical sender and speedo. problem solved. the factory said we were an isolated incident, but i've since heard of similar failures you can put an ohmeter on the sender which has a circular clip retaining it in. 7 odd ohms is a good ine, infinite is very bad thing. also on the end of a drill very slowly to see if you get any pulse ... we have about 10% variance reading higher than actual starting at about 50mph. 19. the maplin ones are very bright, and i think that they could do the biz. and stop OAP's from trying to hit the rear of our cars 🙆🏻 Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....
  20. my heated screen had a 15A fuse on it. i wired the cig lighter to the input to it from the fuse and upped the fuse to 20A. i can use both with no problem. i spoke to a local mini mechanic and he said the switch was a 20A switch. Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....
  21. if you remove a rear wheel and just under the bodywork you spot a long bar facing forwards below the shock with 4 holes that's it. farthest back = softest, farthest forward - stiffest. Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....
