  1. A frame bushes? They don't last long........
  2. Thanks Guys! I think mine is a Draper unit, but I did what all blokes do...... Threw the instructions away without reading them! 😬
  3. Do I need to disconnect the battery? (from the car that is........) Edited by - pete on 13 Mar 2006 11:48:14
  4. Polish the car. Apply a fairly strong solution of shampoo and water, stick the race numbers on then squeegy out the air bubbles, but not too hard, so as to leave some of the solution underneath. Leave to dry overnight. Freshly applied numbers are likely to strip off on the motorway. (Guess how I found that out!) ☹️ Works fine for numbers that are only on the car for a couple of days. It does help with decals that will be on the car for a season, but removal will need a bit of persuasion.
  5. Yesterday, parked at the top of the hill.....metallic grey Roadsport SV. The car was a bit small to take home one of those lovely lathes on display pete

    Smaller wheels

I agree with Neil. I made the switch from 15 inch 'Prisoners' to 13 inch rims and the difference in handling was phenomenal. The car felt more alive, more settled on the road and the turn-in was much sharper. I have not had any grounding problems on the open road (in spite of being a lard-a*se). Sleeping Policemen need some care tho'...... Do it!

Today. Yellow Superlight GN 03 *** with aero's. You pulled out of a side road into the Uxbridge Road at about 10.30am. I was in the cafe on the junction and the sound of your exhaust made my Bacon Buttie taste so much better! Was it you who passed the cafe in Churchfield Road at about 12.30? (Hmm, I seem to spend too much time in cafe's....) ☹️

    AO48 questions

Update on my original post. In the end I went to Llandow with 18psi (cold) all round and the set-up seemed fine to me. Nice tyres 😬 On the weather front, I was in a shop getting some food, when the only torrnential downpour of the day started. I ran back to the car to find SWMBO sitting under an umbrella but still a bit damp round the edges. Got the, 'Bl**dy useless car, I'm never going in it again' routine. ☹️ Pity about that, but on the other hand, if the Rev Limiter is not around, I'll get to hit the other rev limiter more often edited for proper English like what it is spoke. Spotted 08/08/2005

I thought for a moment that it might have been me spotted as I was around Guildford at that time. But I wasn't near Bramley ☹️ Can I claim it as a 'spotted' anyway? No-one will know...............
  10. Don't bother moving South mate! I went from Lunnun to Swindon on Friday. to Llandow on Saturday and all the way back yesterday and never got spotted!

Cor, thanks guys! What a wealth of information. I noticed that the fronts were completely cold after the initial run (countryside cruise) but that the rears were quite warm to the touch. I think I'll try Dave Jackson's set-up and see what happens. I'm going to Llandow on Saturday so that will be a good time to refine the pressures. I will have access to a laser thermometer so I should be able to get some good results. I'll post them afterwards. I am reassured by the 'wet weather' comments, but in view of the amount of water that gets shipped onboard, I'll have to get SWMBO to wear oilskins and a Sou'-Wester. 😬 😬 😬

    AO48 questions

Just bought a set of Yoko's finest 185-60 section, but I wonder if the knowledgable on Blatchat could answer a couple of questions for me please? 1.What are the best tyre pressures. I am running them at 18psi and the ride feels a bit bouncy at low speeds. The car has a standard springs, flat floored, raked and with a bigger front anti-roll bar, rear ARB and a Watts linkage. 2.What are they like in the wet? (Rather know now than find out the hard way) ☹️ Thanks guys.
  14. A guy without his VX HPC ☹️ Thanks for coming and talking to me. It's always good to indulge in a little 'se7enspeak' Edited by - pete on 31 Jul 2005 18:26:35
