  1. John, mine are like the later ones, but are counterbored to allow the set screw to be recessed. I phoned Caterham today still awaiting a response. Just be out in the garage fighting with the front top wishbone bolt and headlamp bracket. They don't seem to go in without bending the sking back. Even then the headlamp brackets don't look like the fit correctly because the bar going onto the wishbone mounting nut is not vertical where they meet. Does this sound rignt. I guess an SV headlamp bracket is the same as the standard car? Regards Andrew
  2. A quick silly question if I may - I have installed the steering rack tonight. The manual shows the washers under the bolts of the clamps. But the bolts are capped headed and design to seat in the counterbore of the clamp. I am presuming the washers go under the nuts and the instructions and diagrams are wrong. Is this a corrrect assumption? Amy other obvious build manual inaccuracys? Thanks Andrew
  3. Thanks all for the feedback. based on the SV being less of a problem, is it worth putiing any insulation in? Also, I was thinking of installing carpets in the footwells and tunnel, presumably that would stop any issues with touching warm metal. Does the SV only have carpets on the floors and seat back? I may be a bit soft I guess!! Regards Andrew
  4. Nigel, where did you purchase the insulation material from. I have just taken delivery of my R400 SV kit and don't want the heat issue to spoil the car. Do you feel that the type of insulation you have used is adequate, or in hindsight would you use something different next time. Regards Andrew
  5. What did Caterham charge for the service. I have a kit arriving on Friday. Everything apart from Engine and diff that are coming from Raceline. Thanks Andrew
  6. Dave, thanks for the enclosed. I guess there is no reason the car won't pass the SVA with the repeaters in the headlamp bowls. Far nicer than drilling the carbon front arches. Regards Andrew
  7. Is it possible to fit the fiat coupe indicator repeaters in the side of the smaller headlamps to avoid mounting them on the carbon front wheel guards. Thanks Andrew
  8. I want to do to individual Throttle Bodies on the Duratec R400 I'm building. The car is mainly for road use and occasional track days. Given they cost about the same, should I go for Cosworth Roller Barrels as fitted to the CSR260s or Jenvey style. Thanks in advance Andrew
  9. Forgot to mention, any detail engine bay photos would be appreciated. Many thanks Andrew
  10. Hello everyone - My first post I am building a Duratec R400 from a component kit and want to install DTH Throttle Bodies (unfortunately not the R500 items) instead of the single plenum arrangement. I also wish to fit the Stack instrument unit, R500 silver switches and keyless go from the current spec R500. I will run a standard MBE ECU with Custom Map. My engine will be to R400 spec, built by Raceline. I have a small question about the engine sensors to enable me to determine if I can use a standard R500 engine and main wiring loom. Please can you tell me what sensors are supported by the standard R500 loom. I guess they are: - TPS - where abouts is it installed on the R500 Throttle Bodies - Lamda HEGO sensor on the Precat - Crank position - Cam position - Water Temperature What others are supported (MAP, Stack ??) and where are they physically installed. Also, does the R500 run a fuel regulator on the fuel rail, or the same arrangement at the rear of the car as used on the R400. Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks Andrew
