  1. Spotted at 7.30 this morning 40th Anniversary car in maroon on the way to Bagshot. What were you doing with the roof up? It wasn't raining! (Although it may have been a bit cold) Tim
  2. Sold to Krismuss! Blatmail me your address and I'll stick it in the post. Alternatively if you're near Wokingham or just off the southern side of the M25 I could drop it off on the way to the office. Tim
  3. Unwanted raffle prize: Garmin Nuvi 200W. It's a fairly basic UK and Ireland Sat Nav but it does the job. Retails for £90 so £50 ono and I'll make a £10 donation to NTL? Tim
  4. Hi Moonwrasse, My brother is 5'7" and reckons that if you're average build ie. not got really long legs it would be ok up to 5'8". Top tube is 526mm if that helps. If you want more info blat mail me and I'll put you in touch directly. Tim
  5. Cheers for the link, I must work out how to do that one day. Surely there's someone interested in this, I thought Blatchat was the home of the carbon fetishist! It really is an impressive piece of kit and incredibly light. Tim

  7. Thanks, I'll try that and see if it makes any difference. It certainly sounds like an easier option than getting the gearbox out! Tim
  8. I did a trackday yesterday at Castle Coombe and seem to have developed a gearbox problem. On track I only use 3,4,5,6 so I didn't notice until afterwards that the gate between 1st and reverse doesn't seem to be working anymore and I seem to get reverse everytime I try to select 1st. Anyone got any ideas or do I need to get the gearbox out and over to a specialist? Tim
  9. Last night at about 8pm. Green and aluminium crossflow I think on a Q plate. Sounded good when you pulled away. I was going to come and say hello but you'd gone by the time I'd filled up. Tim
  10. Last night at about midnight, Black SV? Heading onto the M20 from the M25, it looked like you were having fun on a virtually empty motorway. Tim

    A 21!!!!!

Glad to hear you only wink at girls, Bracknell's not really a place I'd want to be propositioned in!

    A 21!!!!!

A black 21 on the A329 in Bracknell, reg. ???BPB I think. I've never seen one on the road before, very pretty but with only one working headlight! Tim
  13. Bruce, Email with pictures sent, sorry for the delay Tim
  14. *arrowup*BTTT Come on someone must want one, otherwise it'll just fester on a shelf in my garage! Any donation to NTL is acceptable! Tim
  15. Caterham branded oil pressure gauge from my 1999 K series car. £10 or donation to NTL plus P&P. Blatmail me if you want pictures or I'm in Wokingham if you want to collect. Tim
  16. I don't do ebay because it is a pain in the arse, as is amply demonstrated by the regular whinges on here by buyers and sellers about failures to send goods, payment, cough up at the end of auctions, damaged goods etc. However I am happy to arrange to buy stuff from a fellow club member via Blatchat, sorry but that's the way I am. If Hillclimber will only accept ebay bids that's up to him and is fine by me. Tim Edited by - Tim Smith on 23 Nov 2007 16:54:45
  17. Just to keep Tony happy I'll explain that I don't do ebay, however I am happy to pay a reasonable price (ie. more than the ebay reserve) for the doors if they can be posted to me. Tim
  18. Hill climber, I'll take the doors if you can post them to me. I'm happy to pay the postage. Tim
  19. John, Any idea what Millwood did to your car to make it run better? Mine's fine at full throttle but a bit lumpy at low revs and with pops and bangs on the over run. Tim
  20. I've got roller barrels too, having had a Supersport R conversion. Judging by the popping and banging I don't think they're very well set up. My MOT man struggled to get the car to hold steady revs to do the test too. I think a trip to a rolling road may be in order. Tim
  21. Well spotted that man! He did indeed say before 2001. My car was built by the factory too but I still wasn't going to argue, a pass certificate is a pass certificate in my book. Like John my car was very close to the limit last time. Tim
  22. No test was done and I've got the bit of paper! So if it's a 1999 car should it have been tested or not? If it should, I can see an increase in the number of 7s he tests occuring in future 😬 Tim
  23. Have the rules for emissions testing changed recently? I had my 1999 car MOt'd this morning and was told that "it's a kit car built after 2001, only needs a smoke test." Previously it has been emissions tested, I even went to the bother of buying a cat converter and having an interchangeable silencer built up to get it through the test. Obviously I didn't argue with the tester but am now slightly baffled by rules that seem to change on an annual basis. Tim
  24. BOSS's comment about mechanical advantage reminded me of something you will find with the alcon setup; more pedal travel. Because you have to move more fluid to operate more pistons you will have more pedal travel than with the standard system. Initially I didn't like this because it felt as though the pedal was going soft and I wasn't getting stopping power but after time I've adapted and now like the different pedal feel as it does give more feedback.
