  1. James Whiting did this upgrade on my car last year and I'm very happy with it. I've done quite a few trackdays this year and given them a pretty hard time with no problems with the standard discs and no fade. The big advantage over the standard system isn't really absolute stopping power, it's about how much more feel you get. The standard brakes will stop you very quickly if you stand on the pedal hard enough, you just don't know if you'll lock a wheel. The alcon setup means you can use the brakes very, very hard and be confident that you won't lock up. A worthy upgrade and very good for braking confidence, especially on track. Tim
  2. ..on the clockwise carriageway at about 5pm. British Racing Green with yellow stripe and clams. Also may I say what a fine wooly hat you were wearing sir! Tim
  3. My beloved company Mondeo has gone and is now replaced with yet another repmobile so I have a spare Halford's roof rack to fit 2000 - 2006 model Mondeo saloon. Anyone want to give me £40ish for it? It's in Wokingham and I might be able to deliver elsewhere in the SE as I spend far too much of my life driving round the M25. Tim
  4. ....at about 1pm today, I was walking towards Victoria having given up on the tube and saw you heading the other way. Hope you didn't get wet when the heavens opened a few minutes later. Tim
  5. The red one was definitely aeroscreened and you were both 2 up so that counts as a spotted. Not exactly lovely weather for aeroscreening though. Tim
  6. Two Sevens, one red, one yellow and black, at about 5pm on 23rd March.

Hi Skipper, I assume you made it home in one piece, the M25 wasn't very nice at all last night and I'm glad I didn't have to go anywhere near a ferry! Good to meet you too! Tim

Hi Hayden, It was indeed a splendid day at Brands with a surprising amount of grip for the conditions. For someone on only their second trackday you were going at a fine pace, I don't think the beginners group is the place for your next one! I think the left hander fountain is something to do with the location of the screen wash bottle, you can put a one way valve in the hose but I've never bothered. It's another one of those "they all do that sir" things you get used to in Caterhams. Good to meet you, hopefully I'll see you again at another trackday. Tim
  9. Lights and headlights have now been sold to Coyoteracer. Anyone want to make me an offer on the brake calipers? Tim
  10. The lights are in generally good condition. They've been on the car for 4 years and I did notice one of them has a very minor ding in at on the bottom near the mounting point when I took them off. If you mail me I can send some pictures tonight when I'm at home. Tim
  11. For Sale: 1) Pair of 7" black pack headlights - £50. 2) Pair of standard Caterham brake calipers including 500 mile old pads. - £75 3) Standard copper radiator - £50 All items are plus P+P but I could deliver if you're not too far off the M25 or can be collected from Wokingham. Tim

The grey one in Bisley might have been me but I prefer to describe the colour as Titanium silver as grey sounds rather dull. I was off for another attack on the Pirbright bends to test my new brakes! Tim

    Headlights

They went on the car in 2002. I can take some pictures tonight and email them if you want Tim

    Headlights

Stu, I will have a pair of 7" black headlights available from this evening if James Whiting has got the 5.75 ones in for me. They're in good condition, make me an offer! Tim
  15. How do I check the oil level in my 6 speed box? Having checked it, where do I top it up from if necessary? I had a quick look this afternoon but couldn't see anything obvious. Tim
  16. Silver 7 going well round Coppid Beech roundabout and onto A329 at about 3.30 this afternoon Reg K8???
  17. Dark blue on the road from White Waltham to Twyford this morning, closely followed by a blue Elise. I trust you were going slowly to let the hairdresser keep up! Tim
  18. Hi Darren, that was me. It was a splendid afternoon, I'd just cleaned the car and ended up going out for a 40 mile blat just to dry it off. Tim
  19. On the roundabout outside the sports centre at about 8pm this evening. Sorry I didn't wave but I was busy showing an Elise how to exit a roundabout properly. Tim
  20. No I was in my silver Mundaneo repmobile. I might try and come down next year as I'm in Wokingham and it's not that far for a day out. Hopefully the traffic will be better than it was on Saturday on the way down there though. Tim
  21. Yes, I remember your car, it's distinctive as I've not seen one in that colour before. Crossflows seemed to be well represented in the group too. I was passing on my way back from a wedding in Brockenhurst, it looked like a good blat. Tim
  22. Hordes of you, outside a pub called The New Forest on the A35.
  23. Sorry I didn't spot you but did you see my lovely red tarmac on the Mall? One of my great achievements in the world of tarmac don't you know! Tim
  24. Thanks all for the advice, it does sound as if I have been running with too high pressure in the rear tyres. The car was flat floored and set up just before I bought it but I'm beginning to wonder if it might be time to get it done again. I'll also have a look at disconnecting the ARB, what is a drop link and where will I find one? Tim
