  9. I bought 2 second hand ones from Blatchat. I've only used the one, so if you want to offer me half of what I paid let me know, I'll send you a blatmail once I dig out the price. I'm not sure about the advance curve for a twin cam, but I'm sure if you found that out, you could return the dizzy to Aldon and they would adjust it to suit your engine. I'm assuming that if you have a xflow block it should fit without a problem. Cheers
  10. I've just fitted an Aldon Ignitor distributor to my xflow with the correct advance curve for the engine. It's made a huge improvement to the driveability of the car - pulls well right through the rev range, no stutters and I'm now getting 23mpg . This has replaced a lucas dizzy with points, apart from sticky tyres a big red starter button, one of the best upgrades I've made 😬

  12. All sorted now, thanks for the replies There were 4 white/black wires going to the coil, I think they were for the old Lucas Ignition Amplifier, disconnected and ran a new wire from coil -ive to the tacho and all works fine.
  13. Rev counter is connected to - side of coil, no reading. Do I need to change to a different rev counter now that I have gone from a points system to the Aldon ignitor system?
  14. Just got around to fitting an Aldon Dizzie to my xflow, relplacing an old cracked Lucas unit. Aldon has been wired as per Caterham instructions - red wire to + on coil, black wire to white wire on loom adjacent to dizzy. Car runs (really well), but only with the rev counter disconnected from the coil + (still connected to the - otherwise car won't start?) I've searched the archieve but I'm stumped Any ideas before I take it to an auto electrician? Car is a 1989 supersprint and the Rev counter is a VDO with 3 wires coming out of the back - black / green/ white-black. It is the white-black wire that was connected to the coil.
