  1. Good thinking Bat Man 😳
  2. some times the length of the socket is longer than what we are plugging in so the contact point on the end doesn't touch the power source
  3. The weight, the CSR wheel and tyre is VERY heavy, so the initial inertia is much more stressed due to the weight. I fitted a set on my Busa SV had them on a week and took them off again, yea they look great, but the 7 inst about looking like a muscle car. I would suggest that you ask someone who has one to weight it and compare the weight to your present wheels. The other issue is that because the weight is unsprung it will have a negative effect on the handling. Id spend the money on a set of nitron's. Edited by - evotell on 19 May 2014 21:22:16
  4. I'm looking for something more along the line of a switch that turns itself off. Maybe something like this. here Edited by - evotell on 19 May 2014 14:17:04
  5. They certainly fit on an SV, however they trash the exceleration
  6. I have been thinking about doing a mod to the indicator switch for something that has a timer on it so it self cancels. After 40 years of 7 ownership I am still leaving the indicators on, its time for a fix. Any suggestions other than a loud bleeper

  9. Did the tps reset and it appears to be running fine, however the rev counter is still slow to get going when started. Got a friend to plug his scan tool in and got the followi PO 141 PO 195 PO 443 PO 501 Edited by - evotell on 12 May 2014 17:55:36
  10. Somebody has mentioned on another post a TPS reset. press the throttle peddle down with ign on 20 times. Rev counter kicks in after about 2 seconds after its started. It seems strange because both issues appeared to start at the same time. Edited by - evotell on 12 May 2014 14:34:40
  11. Quoting elan_fan: Has it got a plastic throttle body, if so its not unknow for them to stick the butterfly open a bit causing these sorts of syptoms I'm hearing this, but how would this cause the engine to rev itself up? and how can that cause the rev counter to not initially work? Thanks for your input

I think your right JV, its almost certainly another issue.

Quoting Garry7: Have you tried varying the gap between the sensor and the toothed wheel on the driveshaft. I replaced mine recently, set the gap to 1 mm and nothing. Progressively moved it out wards and bingo, works fine now. Will give that a try
  14. 1.4SS K Series done just 600 km. Started this morning as always without issue, noticed within 50 yards that idle was very high almost like throttle was stuck flicked the throttle and it went back to slow idle speed. So the issue doesn't make any difference whether the car is hot or cold. Sometimes maybe 3 out of 10 time when changing gear instead of the idle dropping it rises. I have also noticed that when it starts the rev counter doesn't work and then all of a sudden works fine. I'm going to take it to a friends tomorrow and plug a scan tool in and see what it says. Apart from the rev counter causing issues when its starts you would think it is symptomatic of frayed throttle cable, but it isn't. Except for the revs rising occasionally when changing gear the car runs fine. doesn't miss, hesitate and idles smooth. Any suggestions.
  15. Quoting revilla: Throttle butterfly valve sticking in plastic throttle body. The throttle body distorts under the pressure of the air filter retaining jubliee clip and the throttle doesn't quite close. Slacken it off and see if the problem goes away. Terry if that doesn't fix it, you may be best to start a separate thread on this one. I don't think your issue and Pete's have much in common and this thread is getting hard enough to leep track of as it is. You will probably get a lot more response too as I think many people tired of checking this thread a long time ago 😬 That may cause the idle to be high, but it would cause the engine o rev itself up, nor would it cause the reve counter to not work.

Quoting evotell: Quoting John Vine: Does this table help? (Btw, it looks like 024363 is a KPH code rather than an MPH one.) JV Do these codes work the same for the driveshaft sensor speedo and the gearbox mounted sensor? it appears that they both uses the same speedo. Edited for being a plonker 😳. Now I see it says for Drive Shaft set up, is there one for gearbox set up?

Quoting myothercarsa2cv: Those driveshaft sensors seem to be quite unreliable. My car uses one of these and as far as I can tell the speedo unit is the same as the Sigma engined cars, so why not use something that is a bit more reliable? Shouldn't be too much of a ball ache to wire in one of these units (if you can find one). The 1.4 SS K Series we have has a gearbox sensor and works fine, although a little fast.

Has anybody done any work with Carbon, re drilling cutting, filling. I am using a carbon rear stone guard to make something else and I need to cut it to shape.

Quoting michaeljclark: Was it not in the document that I sent you on the 15th April with all the codes in? If running 185/60 R14's tyres then the input code to enter into the speedo unit should be: 024363 I'm out at a motor sport event all day, but will try and check in if we get a lunch break Mike Thanks Mike.

Quoting SM25T: If it has the wheel sensor ..... is the cable undamaged and LED on sensor flashing ok ? It has the wheel sensor, which appears undamaged, the car is new. The LED sensor seams to be flashing fine. In around 1000km its recorded 8km on the trip and nothing working with the speedo.
