    Sigma Speedo

Urgently need to know what the speedo code is for a 1.6 SV Sigma with 14 inch Minilators, BMW diff. Speedo not working at all.
  2. After 2 months of searching I have now found a complete set of spare sensors for the car. Sods law is I probably wont ever use them. 😳
  3. Thanks Simon, funds on there way to NTL 😬
  4. Quoting AdamQ: I bought one of these recently - haven't fitted it yet but it looks identical to the existing one: here. Adam The connector terminal is different, mines a flat spade connector
  5. If you have one of these or know where I can obtain one please let me know. EU3 K Series Water Temp Gauge sender Part Number: SKU 71167 here
  6. I managed to find one on eBay for £14 😬
  7. Thanks David. I sent an email to Rimmer Bros and they confirmed that NSC100930 will fit and work. Thanks for your time. Terry

    synthetic Oil

At what millage on a new k series are people draining out their oil and filling with synthetic?
  9. It appears that the cam sensor on the EU3 K Series is no longer available from CC and Rimmer Bro states another number and its 80 quid. Some of the eBay sellers state that NSC 100932, NSC 100930 and NSC 100931 will all work. Any suggestions
  10. I have noticed that they list 3 part numbers for the cam speed sensor, does anybody know of either will fit? NSC100930 / NSC100931 / NSC100932

    Getting hot

Thanks to all who have contributed. Took it to a pal of mime who has a vacuum coolant filler. I think there was an air lock, but I also think the thermostat was also stuck, taped in several times, and its been fine all day. Proves my theory if it doesn't work get the hammer out 😳 Edited by - evotell on 1 May 2014 13:46:57

    Getting hot

Quoting David Brown: A bleed T plus a small hole drilled in the thermostat rim should resolve any bleeding problems. Drill a hole where in the housing?

    Getting hot

Ok. I raised the front of the car and loosened off one of the hoses, what became apparent very quickly is that all the hoses got hot including the heater hose that goes into the thermostat housing, but the bottom hose stayed cold as did the bottom of the radiator. I am cure the thermostat is not opening. Any suggestions? I have looked the mod document and it makes sense, but I'm not sure this is my present problem.

    Getting hot

Quoting SM25T: What has been done to the cooling system lately ? Could be an airlock in the system. Could be a failing sender unit ...... do you have a thermometer like one of the laser contactless ones so you can measure the temperature of each hose ? I have found the k-series cooling system mod (as per article in LF Sept 2012) to be very effective. Simple and cheap to do. I have a pdf scan of the article if needed. Ian Nothing, the car has only just been completed, its done 160km. The pdf document would be helpful. terryjohns@live.ca Thanks Ian Edited by - evotell on 30 Apr 2014 14:16:33

1.4 K series. Occasionally the temp gauge climbs right up to the red, sits there for several minutes sometime 5, then drops back to 80 - 90 till it does it again, maybe same day may 3 days. ☹️
  16. What I meant to say was maybe it has a break in the loom 😳
  17. Just been down my workshop and had the plastic cam off, cant see any sensors just the coil packs, nothing that I can see on either end of the cam. Is it obvious if it has a cam sensor? Edited by - evotell on 28 Apr 2014 03:02:43
  18. Quoting Englishmaninwales: Quoting evotell: Quoting sforshaw: Terry, from memory my 1400K SS didn't have the first 2 items on your list Unless the 1st item is for the crank not camshaft? Stu. I can see that it wont need the cam shaft sensor as it has a sensor at the back of the crank, but what is the sensor on the manifold Depends on the age of your car. CC did produce some late 1400 cars which are likely to be EU3, and if so you will need a cam phase sensor. The sensor in the manifold is the air temperature sensor. I am Farley confident that the car is a EU3 as its a late 2009 1.4. It came from Caterham as a base 1.4 and we got the ECU remapped and SS cams fitted. It defiantly has a crank sensor, are you saying it also has a CAM sensor as well?

  20. So what the action plan on Monday Dan if the pump hasn't arrived? In my experience of dealing with Caterham since 1975 is they are MASTERS of delaying tactics played out through silence. It must be getting close to drawing lines in the ground and taking control of this nasty situation.
  21. You must have fuzzy logic wipers, they have interpreted that its always raining in the UK 😬
  22. Wanted for 1.4 K Series SS. Cam shaft speed sensor Part number: NSC 100932 Manifold pressure sensor Part number: ??? Air inlet temp Part number: NNK 1001
  23. They say that "Hope deferred makes the heart grow sad" Give them a call at the end of today Daniel and if the pump isn't in as they said it would be I would suggest you through in the towel. 😳
