    Ear plugs

Quoting Birkin S3 ZA.: Now I can wear them all day and nod when the wife’s lips move. 😬 😬Chris. Classic!!!! 😬 😬 😬
  2. Nice article on carbs vs injection by Dave Walker in the latest Track Driver...
  3. Sam is based in Dundee, but but has some racing mates in Morpeth / Newcastle so it would be easy enough for him to leave bits with them for collection etc
  4. UK based - hence the UK number - I'm just doing Sam a favour getting some attention here - he's not a BC member ;-) ETA - removed Norway as a location from my profile so as not to conphush peeple... 😬 Edited by - Neil66 on 1 May 2013 10:28:02
  5. Posting for a fellow PH'er ;) Lot of Duratec components for sale from a YDX engine here: Essentially a long list of parts for the 2.3/ 300bhp - everything to build another, excluding block/ head and pistons, but includes exhaust system etc. Engine built by HWR, has done approx 4 hours since last re-fresh - moving to Honda power so breaking engine, all the above to have relevant bolts included. Good spares package for existing duratec owners or good base for engine build, with block/ head/ has been running on OMEX with Jenvey 45mm (keeping for another project) and from Caterham S3 chassis for exhaust specifics. A word doc with all the parts can be picked up here or here in my Dropbox Contact Sam on 07740 684 186 or sarrenberg åt høtmail d0t cøm Cheers, Neil. ETA dropbox link - flash crash on earlier posting... Edited by - Neil66 on 1 May 2013 09:49:51
  6. Synchrometer.. pah...! In my day we did it with a length of syphon hose - one end down the barrel and the other in yer ear 😬
  7. Quoting 6speedmanual: Go aero! Peter +1
  8. Loads of discussions on here - pretty much useless tbh.. Some folks have reported moderate success in heating the lower corner and adding more bend to deflect more air, never tried that... The look good on the car but that´s about t ;)
  9. Sorry Steve! You´re not alone with a bit of an LA fetish!!
  10. here? ETA, some more info here: "The "top hat" bushes where A-frame pivots under the differential have a very short life, especially when soaked in oil from a leaking axle. The Moss part number is 88G274 (old number Y16), and this is identical to the front top trunnion bush on a MG Midget." Edited by - Neil66 on 26 Apr 2013 22:09:02
  11. Eugene should be along in a mo with the relevant info ;) Or go 5 link and ditch the a-frame ETA some useful info here and here and here Do a blatsearch for "bush live axle" 😬 Edited by - Neil66 on 26 Apr 2013 22:10:28
  12. If your flex means the wheel drum combo are effectively loose then I would suspect it as a bearing issue... Ie grab the wheel at 9&3 o'clock and push back and forth, do the same at 12&6 o'clock if it feels loose or moves then suspect the bearings... If it's tight but the wheels / drums wobble when you rotate the wheel, ie like a buckled bicycle wheel, then it's likely to be bent half shafts... Edit to remove iSpelling... 13. Bent half-shafts...??? I had the same on an old English axle...

Quoting Roger King: ...This is to ensure that no individual valve springs are sitting compressed for the duration while others aren't compressed at all... Is that true?? I´m not convinced a valve spring material will creep at ambient temperatures...
  15. Quoting John Vine: Quoting Johnty Lyons: the wind chill is huge try driving hard down the road in a T shirt and see how you feel. But wind chill won't lower the temperature of an inanimate object below ambient (unlike the guy in the T-shirt). Agree about the blanking card. JV Correct but wind chill will cool said inanimate object much quicker...
  16. Another tip with new nylocs is to make the joint up with a normal nut first til the taper is tight then take the normal nut off and replace it with a nyloc
  17. Without a proper plug chop - the lighter ones look to be more correct in colour so then it´s most probably over fuelling on 2&4 or could be an inlet / exhaust restriction... if there are physical links - I´m not familiar with the manifolding on the sigma, are there any common themes on inlet / exhaust to 1&3 vs 2&4? Other things to think about... - Do they run off the same coil? Is the engine management system set up correctly are they all firing at the same crank angle? Is the fuel injection semi sequential and could this be a clue? I seem to recall ford have a different 4cyl firing order than 1,3,4,2 (1,2,4,3?)..? Sorry I´m not being much help without reaching for Mr. Google but maybe some food for thought??? Edited for clarity Edited by - Neil66 on 26 Feb 2013 21:24:16
  18. Quoting AMMO: ... As far as I know for the married ones this never actually ended up in divorce, but in some cases it might have been a contributory factor. Great stuff Ammo - LMAO!!!!
  19. Quoting Birkin S3 ZA.: Have A look at this then you might change it back again 🥰 🥰 This is my look alike Caterham BDZZetec BDZ Looks like you and I have engines in completely different places... I'm not familiar with Birkins but nice one - that was the look I was after just not to be...
  20. Quoting Eugene: It looks nice, but there is no way in hell that I'm ever going to add that kind of weight for no gain... ever!!! 😔 😔 😔 Well I wouldn't be sooo hard... there is a gain and you allude to it with your thread title - looks!! 😬 Yes,it might not fit into the "performance & handling" bracket but you have to admit it does look darned good
  21. Hi Chris - I have no problems with the bonnet - it's the nose one... It's not in place and still has a couple of inches to move rear wards - have a look at the picture again and note the position of the upper dzuz fasteners... Eta- maybe your engine sits further back... Then it would just be the thermostat housing to worry about.... Edited by - Neil66 on 18 Jan 2013 05:13:39
  22. Clash of filler with nosecone here Clash with raceline rail stat here and here
  23. Be careful.. Doesn't fit very easily... I bought one. The boss for the oil filler needs machining flush and some sort of flush / countersunk cap which kind of defeats the look a little. Also, if you're running a Raceline water rail, there's an interference with the stat housing - would require removing a lot of material... And finally, it weighs a bloody ton! So, I have one for sale for any Escort /Anglia boys out there...???
  24. Quoting John Vine: Hmmm.. Are you suggesting, therefore, that the best coolant is 100% water? *confused*JV Yup... ´tis true - and the ultimate is distilled...
