  3. Saw you parked up on the green, probably late afternoon. Only from a distance, though. Red, and I think on an 11 plate
  4. If you've got sikaflex left, i'd use it on the other wing, especially if its a fancy carbon fibre wing
  5. Thanks for that Andy. In that case I think i'll leave it be! Should I not need the choke though when its cold?! When its warm it does take a while to catch? Any suggestions Cheers Stuart
  6. To hopefully improve reliability and MAYBE improve fuel consumption and performance I’ve just put an electronic ignition (previously points, condenser etc) on our 1970s, 2.25 Lightweight Land Rover. I’ve also put a new gold coil on, HT leads and about to fit a new set of plugs It always ran perfectly before BUT it never needed choke to start it and it guzzled fuel (I appreciate it’s never going to be efficient!). This would suggest the mixture was too rich but the spark plugs were perfect?! After changing the ignition I was expecting to have to adjust the timing. However, it started on the button and seems to run perfectly, no misfire, pinking or anything else. I left the timing as it was. So, given I’m an amateur do I mess around and play with the mix or because the plugs are perfect do I just leave it alone? Why don’t I need the choke?! Maybe on a cold day in winter the choke will help but it will start whatever..... If it’s not broken shall I just leave it Stuart
  7. About 11pm.... drove down next to the river in the centre. At least I think it was a Caterham 😳 ... it was a bit dark

  12. I MIGHT have a bulldog wheel clamp for sale after the week-end. I have just bought a second hand one but it is bigger than I thought it was and not sure if it is going to fit under the boat trailer mud guard it was bought for. I'll be able to confirm at the week-end. Drop me a blatmail if of interest. Stuart
  13. I used SIkaflex for mine as I had some spare... its not going to be coming off anytime soon tho (not that I have the car anymore) ☹️
  14. And here is a pic of the pad. Is the sensor the round thing thats causing a slight shadow on the disc just in front of the pad??
  15. Here is a pic of said lip (first pic insert ) third time lucky!! Edited by - Stuart McGill on 15 Feb 2011 12:49:46
  16. Not on the 7 (I don't have one anymore ☹️).. On the Boxster the pads do not need replacing but i'm considering changing them anyway - reason being is that they have wear sensors on and I believe if I replace the pads before the warning light comes on then I will not have to buy new sensors too. Anyone any experience of these wear sensors?? I THINK that once the pad depth gets to a certain level the contact on the sensor wears through (requires replacing) and the dash warning light comes on.... Secondly, how much of a lip can a disc have before I need new discs and can't just replace the pads? There is a lip but its fairly small (maybe 1mm?). Cheers Stuart
  17. I'm in Anglesey this week-end and heading back to Manchester on Sunday if this helps...?
