  1. 1.6 K Series, ex Academy. Fuel consumption test: Driven about 260 miles, mixed driving, 70% of time at circa 70mph ish with the odd blat here and when roads allowed. Now just brimmed the tank and it took 28.5 litres having been on the VERY VERY bottom of the red.... Now... im 90% sure it is but do I have a 35 litre tank? I think I do but would just like to check...? This works out to be 42 mpg.... I am mightly impressed with this. 😬 Are other K drivers experiencing the same mpg? I'm guessing with more efficient drving I could get about 48 ish??!!! Stuart
  2. Thanks for the responses. I've got the three pieces to do it (2 flat pieces and 1 pre bent on). Its just it does not appear desperatly clear where the three pieces go! I took the battery out the other day but could not even fit the new piece in! Do you drill out the end plate and then push the new one through via ther cockpit? I can imagine it being a right pain! If sanyone has any photos they can send of both the inside of the footwell and from the engine bay that would be very handy! As it is my only car I can't afford to make a boj of it and then wait till the following week-end to finish! Once started it needs to be finished the same/ next day! Stuart
  3. Seeing as my Caterham will be used as my only car... I would like to think I am allowed a heater? I am expected to be told otherwise though! So with this in mind i’d like some advice/ comments (and no doubt criticism) on the current heaters you are all using. I believe the 3 generation heater is the current one being sold and this came out sometime in 2004??? Is this the one to go for or is the model before just as good? Did the one before have the ‘7’ embossed in it? Any feedback on this? The car it is to go in is a 2004 ex Academy (K series). I think fitting the latest type is fairly straight forward but what about earlier types heaters? Ideally i’m looking for a used New Style, 3rd Generation heater but just want to know whether the previous versions are worth considering also. Many thanks. Stuart
  4. I'mconsidering extending the passnger footwell but would like some guidance and ideally photos on who has done this.... The car is a 2004 K Series with a wet sump. I've run a search but with not much luck. Any tips as always are appreciated. Thanks. Stuart
  5. 2004 K Series..... not tried CC technical yet. Stuart
  6. Yes yes, the joyous rev counter again.... As I often drive with the lights on I have noticed at higher speeds the rev counter often jumps by 1000 rpm when I switch on the lights and then stays there... i.e. does not just flick and then come down again. Any suggestions as to what this is and how I can stop it? Many thanks,
  7. Thanks for the response and apologies for sounding like a muppet.... BUT ....do I have to refit both ends or are you saying to buy a fuel hose that fits the engine end and then modify the fuel rail end? I'm just not sure how either end could be attached with a jubilee clip? Thanks Stuart
  8. For my 1.6 K, I noticed that the flexible rubber hose joining the fuel rail?? to the engine is starting to perish/ crack slightly. Is this the replacement part: Rover Hose If so, any ideas where a cheaper one can be sourced as this seems desperatly expensive for what it is!!! Many thanks in advance. Stuart
  9. Dave, You now have mail too! Stuart
