  1. Congratulations! Looks fantastic - enjoy
  2. Same approach but used a piece of flat bar with G Clamp to hold it in place to leave both hands free.
  3. As Cagey says, with the full cage and other "race" items it looks, at the very least, that it has been used as a trackday tool. Not necessarily anything wrong with that if it has been looked after but I would want to know the history in some detail. Looks awesome though!
  4. Surely CC should be sorting this out for you? I know we understand and accept that our cars are not mass produced and come with some foibles but should you have to run around trying to sort out an issue like this on a 6 month old top of the range car? Have you asked CC what they can do to sort it more urgently so that you are not missing the best part of a months driving time? Steve
  5. Thanks for all your hard work Stephen - much appreciated

Also had a problem with my Radtec rad but to be fair to them they responded very well. Sent me a replacement immediately and I used the packaging from the replacement to return the damaged rad. Obviously prefer not to have the problem in the first place but couldn't fault their handling of it. Steve
  7. I guess the other option for encouraging first time track days for owners without the required bar would be to find (trusting) fellow owners and sign up as a second driver on a club track day. Maybe the club could even encourage this by asking for volunteers and waiving second driver fees for first timers? Steve
  8. The other option which avoids any dismantling is to fit a split boot that you glue together. A little bit fiddly to get a good joint but once done seems as strong as a one piece boot. Steve
  9. If anyone has a Mk 1 MX5 I have a CD with PDF version of full workshop, service and repair manual for Mk1 MX5 (1989 - 1998). Available as I bought it by mistake when looking for a Mk 2 manual for my wife's car. Doh! Free to good home! Steve
  10. Thanks John - and I learnt something about the emoji things as well as a bonus!
  11. Have just had engine out for a clutch change and in final stages of re-assembling everything. Took great care with labling wiring but for some reason thought the plumbing for the Apollo and Laminova was self explanatory. Numpty! Have done an extensive search but cannot find anything that clearly describes this. What I think is the correct routing is as follows: 1. From oil filter housing connection closest to block to Laminova (is the oil filter housing what people call the sandwich plate?) 2. From Laminova to top connection of Apollo 3. From bottom connection of Apollo to oil filter connection furthest away from block (next to alternator) Incidentally, can the oil connections to the Laminova be either way or is there a required in and out? Fittings are same and can't see any markings. Thanks Steve
  12. Yeah S3 1998 Superlight Cheers Steve
  13. HI Richard Don't need it for Christmas but put me down for a grill please Thanks Steve
  14. Just got my car back on the road so definitely up for a return to Oulton! Sam if you're reading this put me down for a place soon and I'll call you next week when I get back to the UK. Thanks!
  15. I had similar problems with a Radtec bought via a club bulk buy a few years ago. Coolant leaking at the tube joints into the sides. I remember at the time there were a few others that had similar problems, Shame because it was a lovely bit of kit. Good that Radtec are providiing support to sort the issues out.
  16. Hi - is there anyone that would be able to pick up a small central heating water pump (about 1.5Kg) from Bishop's Storford and deliver to my office in Doncaster (Lakeside) or close by or alternatively anywhere in North Lincolnshire area any time over the next week or so? Cheers Steve
  17. I'll have the pistons and airbox please
  18. tempted but having just spent over £3k on the Tag it would have to be less than that to justify another one. Good luck with the sale - I see you've got some bidders already so looks promising
  19. Bu**er wish I'd seen this a couple of weeks ago - this was one of my two shortlisted watches but I went for a Tag. Then again - you can never have too many watches so if it was at the right price
  20. Worth checking the spark plugs to see if one has come loose. Exactly the same sound you have described. I speak from experience! Edited by - Steve Cragg on 31 Jul 2012 23:46:49
