  1. Yes Unless you are my foreign neighbour and like to upset the MSA steward by pitching up outside the pub near the event without 😔
  2. My point was not so much as the danger Ben - more the fact that if there was anything on your car clearly broken or not working you would fix it. How many times do you drive around these days seeing road cars/vans with a wheel bouncing along to its hearts content. Clearly the damper not working. I stopped an old boy about 18mths ago - just collected his Alto from a Suzuki Main dealer first service. Wheel was going up and down like a YoYo.
  3. Its OK Delbert I don't use Sika as it goes off to quick in a part used tube. CT1 for me everytime. Sticks to far more blankets
  4. I wonder why Honda waited for 1 year
  5. It doesn't cost £500 to test them? Would you drive around with your brakes not working correctly? Would you continue to drive with a leaking head gasket? Would you continue to drive with a loose wheel bearing?
  6. I'll try and keep to the rules here by stating info only. I have not had any set of dampers from any manufacturer over 4 years old that have been within a suitable tolerance. One brand has a 71% failure rate where gas has escaped into the oil and emulsified. You can not see this without testing and opening them up.
  7. As it says really. I would like to find a Blade from an old Freestyle ARB. I have not been told of any Meteor ARB's breaking but I understand a few older Freestyle ones may have had trouble. 07920 843146
  8. This is the only picture you are going to see of me 😬 Edited by - Simon.Rogers on 8 Apr 2014 13:35:12
  9. Unfortunately there is no solution. The petty strut has to be in place to conform to our regs. I would post on the wanted section for a loan of one. As for entry to the event I would suggest but can not promise that you would gain an entry much much later than the official date
  10. But with no evaporation no pressure to force the fluid out you don't need to top up. My k always ran at a pressure. The Busa I understand also tends to build up a pressure. I get no pressure build up in mine withe Evans. This may be the engine or the Evans. The build up of pressure in a system surely has to be due to either expansion of fluid or fluid turning to gas or expansion of gas. That is not happening with the Evans, Anyway this argument can run and run. I have had the tech and physics explained to me. I have seen the corrosion that is not present when using the Evans in lab tests. I don't now have pressure build up and I can save the coolant and re use it. I'm more than happy with it and will be staying with it.
  11. Pressure is easy Jonathan. With normal coolant you open the header tank cap and you can hear the pressure releasing. With Evans you can open the cap at any time and you will hear nothing! Not even when you open up at 97.5deg when its cooling from 125deg 😳
  12. OK Pictures ready. Here is a link to my Dropbox folder that I have uploaded them to. Currently fitted in the photo's is the CiC "Cat in the Can" carbon silencer. There is a Raceco also. Pictures Here
  13. There is always some sort of deal to be done!
  14. Unfortunately for you Mark, Kevin is a bit of a hoarder! There is a lovely old SL500 in the shed doing nothing! Oh theres a mk1 mx5 also with insignificant mileage and a fleet of bikes including a Harley. No his heart is on the C4S! We will get some pics taken over the weekend.
  15. No nothing taken yet. I'll look for some taken at sprints but not a polished car - thats for this weekend. Simon
  16. Well since this was a known car I went and found the spec from its previous sale. I have also updated the bits that have changed. Mileage at the moment is a bit of a calculated guess - I won't be far out.
  17. Yes it looks just like it does on the register but with CSR front wings and wide 215 tyres. Kumho's all round. Need to check the mileage. But not a lot.
  18. I'm listing the car for Kevin Evans as he's not registered on BC even though he is a member. I will post a full spec over the weekend but for now Reg V11 UFO SLR No. 127 2002. Mercedes Benz Silver and Carbon 210bhp DVA K Series with cat. Considerably more without. Built by Julian Thompson and then owned by Ken Evans and for the past few years Kevin Evans. There is loads of history about this car on here. Have a look. The last Superlight R ever supplied – No. 127 Meticulously built and modified by Julian Thompson costing £35000+ Further modified by Ken Evans, Dave Andrews and mapped by Dave Walker - further £5000 230BHP at 8000rpm – 490 kg (The car has since been mapped by Steve Greenald with the original Caterham Cat and the Raceco at 208.9. No other changes made. Since then it has run a Cat in the Can silencer. 155 lb.ft – very flat torque curve above 5500rpm Registration V11 UFO (Seven UFO in case it’s not obvious) On the right tyres, 0-60 in 3.7 and 0-100 under 9 secs. It’s one hell of a car! It seems that 911's are a curse for the owner of this car - Kevin has done a deal for a 997 911 C4S - hence a new owner is required. It was first purchased and built by Julian in 2002 to his usual high standards and incorporating some very interesting and beneficial modifications some of which are detailed below. The car has been used by me for days out, track days, and hill climbing. It has done no more than 5 track days in the last 5 1/2 years and a maximum of 4 events of sprinting or hill climbing a year (5 Miles each?). Always religiously watched for an oil temperature of at least 42degC on the Stack before using the power and the engine has never been used to the full when cool. Mobil 1 oil is used. The carbon fibre has dulled since new and the rear wings have some cracks where they’ve brushed the Armco. The front wings are currently brand new Carbon wide CSR style on lowered wing stays. 14500 miles ish? Dash away for refurb so can't check. Dry sump Magnesium MB 7.5" front and 8.5" rear wheels with Kumho Ecsta V70 tyres 215 front and 235 rear Kevlar seats Black powder coated engine bay Black powder coated interior panels 6 Speed gearbox Stack dashboard - Currently away for Stack Refurb. Full carbon package (nosecone, rear wings and dashboard). Painted Mercedes Benz 744 silver Watts link suspension and wide track front end 4.1 LSD – well you wanted acceleration! 3.92 and 3.6 CWPs available if you want them Fitted tonneau cover Carbon interchangeable aeroscreen Carbon wing mirrors and centre mirror FIA roll bar Raceco Titanium Exhaust system with custom Mike Riley collector. Custom 1100g HE30 cam cover Mocal catch tank Keyless ignition Carbon fibre floors and boot floor Custom indicators built into headlamps Custom machined lightweight seat runner system Lightweight battery and custom mounting Custom steering wheel pad for extra visibility of instrument readout Suspension. Included in the base price are a set of standard Bilsteins. The car currently sits on Ohlins (by Meteor ) 2 way 46mm race spec dampers. Flat floored and just about as good as you get. If the purchaser want the Ohlins then he would be looking for an additional £2k. Ohlins are now well over £3k plus vat. But Kev is alway up for a deal so please call. £18995.00 I have driven this car a few times. It has to be one of the smoothest most driveable engines out there. Its very quick. Give me a call if interested. 07920 843146 Edited by - Simon.Rogers on 21 Mar 2014 10:52:25 Edited by - Simon.Rogers on 21 Mar 2014 13:30:32
