  1. Stu, My new wheels are shod all round with Potenzas so guess ill soon find out if I find them as good as you have Will probably scrub my current 17s on a track day then fit some winter tyres
  2. Recent MOT revealed play in the bearings at the bottom of the front uprights Ordered new from CC and managed to replace last night insitu o/s still has a small amount of play and looks like the bearing moves slightly from side to side within the A frame housing. Is a small amount of play acceptable or should I look for a replacement bearing and / or A frame?
  3. Tweeky, Got your BM and tried twice to reply but it came back undeliverable You can collect at your conveneince though so just mail me nearer the time so I have a bit of notice Cheers, Sandy
  4. This was one of those threads I though would fall flat (Happens to alot of mine ) So, thanks loads for all the replies - interesting to read everyones experiences. This morning Ive managed to bag a set of 18" wheels with good RFT tyres off ebay so I will now sell my 17" for hopefully, a cost neutral upgrade 😬 Also postpones any tyre purchase until next year so I will revisit this then
  5. Michael, BM received and response sent Tweeky, No problem, its yours - PM me with preferred payment method and if you want a spacer or delivery and well take it from there
  6. Hi Stu, Goodyear Eagles on the front Goodyear Excellence on the rear (non RFT) I cant say that ride and handling is that bad but the rears will need replacing soon so just want best value really. Your experience is interesting as from what I can make out the Bridgestone Potenzas are standard RFT fitment and many on other forums slate them. The Hankook V12 seems to be well liked and Camskill list them at £80 ea delivered I need to keep digging in to the info out there to see if its worth going wider though?
  7. BMW 123d 17" tyres will require replacing soon and Im going to ditch the RFTs Ive been scouring the forums to get a handle on what non RFT tyre choices others are using but can seem to find any consistence and most threads I find are from USA forums. Many also seem to increase tyre sizes when ditching the RFTs so run 225/255 (against 205/225 standard RFT) Anyone on here switched or can offer any useful forum or web links where I can get some decent advice
  8. Anyone at £16 then UK delivered which is half price 🤔
  9. I've suffered k click ever since I brought my car and now have a Bosch fitted Over the last few years I've purchased spare starters and fit when the starter in use begins to stick. (I then have the faulty unit reconditioned and keep as a spare) This regime has cost me £25 annually If anyone needs a spare then following a garage tidy up I have the following for sale (priced to allow for your own recon if necessary); 2 x CC Standard starter small piece of plastic casing has broken to solenoid (taped up and run with no issues) £25ea 1 x CC Standard starter £35 2 x Spacers £5 ea when purchased with a starter All plus delivery (allow £7 for courier), collection is fine, gonads to be arranged by buyer
  10. Steve, You can only buy them for the year Am on holiday at the mo so can't forward you the link Google Swiss motorway vignette though and you should find the Official Swiss website which also allows you to buy online
  11. Roger, I'm tempted I've got a WR which is good but have always fancied a CRF How much work / mileage has it done, is it elec start, was it properly maintained when running and would you consider it to be in a reasonably useable order with a new battery and lube etc or would it require more to pass MOT and be ridden? Any pics and has it got bash plate and hand guards? Oh and where is the bike located? (I have a trailer) My email if easier is sandy dot sanders at ntlworld dot com
  12. It was on eBay but they removed it as apparently it's against eBay law as it's a government tax ❗ Ironic as I brought it off eBay in the first place
  13. I'm back this Friday but if you indeed are off this Monday then it's a non starter really as I wouldn't want to rely on the post delivering in time. Never mind, have a good trip

  17. Found it 😬 Which is a good job I mean where on earth do you buy a single M12 bolt 🤔
  18. Cheers for the responses Richard, Not sure a CAD drawing will help me as I dont think I know anyone that could make me one. I know where to come if that changes though Thead size will come in handy - Might just put a bolt in it for now! Could never get a consistent reading off the dip stick anyway so Kev has now kindly cut me a length of steel dowel. Cheers Kev Jason, I now no why you kept encouraging me to eat your crisps - Trying the old weight transfer technique eh 🤔
  19. A few weeks ago my dip stick fell out of the cap so I tried to glue it back in place but it didnt hold. I've now had the bonnet off and it seems the cap has resonated loose and with no dip stick to gravity assist it in place its probably in ahedge somewhere between my house and Curborough! I called Titan who said I can only get a replacement through Caterham. Called CC and they want £33 + del So, anyone know of a correctly threaded alternative please? Dry sump set up is SLR Caterham standard circa 2001
  20. Ive got a single genuine minilite that needs a refurb Its straight and true but needs a sandblast and repaint Need £25 for it though
