  1. Boris - YHM Martin - 1 ticket only (ie 1 person). Car pass ticket not available; I would add that car pass tickets have registration number printed on pass so not really transferable. Cheers Rick
  2. I've 1 x 3 day ticket that I cannot use without bullying wife. Club discount price totalled £43 + 'transaction fee'. (Silverstone added a £3 booking fee to the ticket price - cheeky sods). Price on ticket is £80 and the price is now £102!!! I have added a couple of quid to cover postage. Mail me if you want it and I will get the ticket in the post - I do have tickets. Happy to sort out payment after you have received ticket. Rick
  3. Thanks for replies. I confess that I have not had problems with diff or gbox but seem to remember seeing some comments regarding additive to diff although searching archives I cannot find anything. Possibly my memory failing. I would love to replace the seal at the angle drive so as it is possible in situ I'll have a go. Any tips? Cheers Rick
  4. What thoughts on additives to LA diff (I am looking to overfill by 0.5ltr) and additives to 5 speed gearbox. The car is 1.6Vx and mainly road use. I do loose some oil from gearbox where speedo cable enters gbox (I think) and will have to tackle this at some point but as I understand it is an engine out job I am trying to put it off for as long as possible. Thanks Rick

Any suggestions as to best price and who to go to? Cheers Rick
  7. Thanks for the replies guys. How the hell do you sort out the 2 (I think) fixings that are accessible from one side only. To get to the other side would seem to require removing inner trim, I presume that's why they were rivnuts. Cheers Rick
  8. Having spent longer than most of you seem to get an engine out I have removed the rear wheel arches. What a sh1t job. I will be putting the same one back but what is the best way to do this with respect to fastenings? Most of the nut & bolt fittings came off (eventually) but those held by rivnuts pulled through. There must be a better solution. Rick
  9. Saw you being recovered from hard-shoulder just south of Hatfield; around 11:00 Tuesday morning. Hope nothing too serious. Rick
  10. POBC - where to buy; HT leads, dis cap and rotor arm? I understand the engine code is C16NZ2 (Astra F). I think part number for dis cap is 90442011N (found on a web site) but I am a little confused over HT leads. Those shown on 1 web site for the C16NZ2 do not look correct and the ones that do look correct (90487571N) are listed as for a different engine. Have not been able to find rotor arm. Thanks for any help. Rick Rick
  11. Guys - thanks for all the help. I shall 'set-to-it' this weekend. Hope it goes better than Saturday; pushing car out of garage, I also have quite a liking for the smelll of petrol but my wife dosen't (although my true sniffing love is currently WD40) I successfully pushed the car over my newly purchased fcuking air-flow meter (and broke it..). Rick
  12. There has been a slow but steady build up of brown staining down the side of my car clearly from the carbs when driving. Can anyone point me to what I should be looking for to stop this as I have carbs and inlet manifold off the car. ALSO...should I use any form of gasket sealant between gasket and manifold/block.I ask as there was some used previously. TA Rick
  13. Any ideas where I can get one? Thanks Rick
  14. Handbrake knob has once again made a bid for freedom and on this occasion successfully left the car. Need a new one and have emailed CC to see if it is possible to buy, if not I will need to make. Does anyone know the dimensions (diam/length) and thread size. It is 1998 car and under dash type. Not only but also........live in Welwyn Garden, any suggestions on where to buy battery - 53034. TA Rick
  15. I am very local, corner of Handside and Bridge Road. Unfortunately work clashes with the Wednesday meeting but I did meet up the other Sunday. Had a really good drive with others from M25 services to Ashwelll for the noon meeting. Whereabouts are you? Rick
  16. forgot to add that she did see you (on the roundabout?) and instructed 'navigator' to wave back. Rick
  17. that was no young lady ....that was my daughter. You have good eyesight as it is R reg. Rick
  18. You were heading from rothbury towards scots gap, I was in tin top going the other way. Did flash but looked as if you were stuck up behind a car so probably didn't see my frantic flashing. Great road, great day for it. Rick

this might be b*ll*cks but is a CF dashboard conductive? Rick
  20. Can anyone recommend a garage in the Welwyn Garden area for daughter's KA. Looks as if the clutch slave cylinder may have 'gone' and I understand this is a gearbox out job. Rick
  21. Hi Alex Got everything from fastroadcars except the bl88dy bolts. The ones they supply are not the same length. I'll do a internet trawl. Rick
  22. Having unknowingly lost a bolt from inlet manifold holding carbs (cause of crappy tickover etc) I have struggled to find where to get such bolts. All other bits and bobs got but 'standard' bolts are not long enough. Can anyone help. TA Rick
