  1. Not strictly true, I have a 2004 R300 and that has a distributor and a coil pack, I imagine there's no hard and fast rules, the date doesn't seem to be the governing factor more likely Caterham stock levels at the time for certain engines types Phil

  5. As the subject line, I required a rear ZF diff rear cover plate, mine has a small hairline crack and leaks badly, maybe possible to weld but the aluminium is probably contaminated with diff oil for the weld to be successful especially when pressurised Thanks for looking phil

I gave them the serial number of my rack the year and make of the car they knew it was a Caterham, "we'll phone you back" 3 separate phone calls still no ring back. 12. I imagine the circuit is ignition on circuit if so ,ignition on test at your 1st position your testing for voltage, test at switch between switch and to earth, if voltage, 2nd position link switchwire and live feed and test at light between live/switchwire and a good earth if voltage suspect poor earth continuity at light Regards phil Edited by - phil 01 on 20 Apr 2014 14:56:48

  18. Hello Paul, the car is just about fully stripped, found various problems as I've slowly dismantled the car but nothing major, hopefully it will be down to just the chassis and ready for Arch to do their magic in about a week or so. Probably the hardest part to remove was the carbon fibre dash I eventually bought what is a garrote with braided gold wire laced between the handles and worked this between the chassis frame and the dash, but I saved the dash. Another item is the wishbone bushes,I've a 6 inch record vice and jaws where bending as I extended the vice handle with the trolley jack handle I think these bushes will need pressing out Phil
  19. When you torque down a bolt with a nylock nut are the values given in say "the build manual" the actual loading or are they the loading after we have taken into account the preload of the nylock nut. If you dont add additional poundage would this lead to under torqued nuts and bolts, this thought came to me laying in bed thinking should get up its 0630 and it's your day off Phil
  20. Good morning does anybody have a copy of the toad user instruction/guide? As fitted to the R300 I believe its the powerkey alarm, red light on dash and small proximity sensor. I may also require installation instructions if I need to replace the sensor Thanks phil
